If we're valuing players based purely on goals scored at lower levels we might as well get Walker back
yeah , because i am not impressed , i must be negative. wow. we'll see how it goes , we have plenty of positions to fill and only so much time before the season starts. if mgw signs , fine. if not , not too bothered. i trust dane and his crew to get our transfer business done well.He was also into double figures for assists. His numbers are pretty much identical to BJ, how much do you value him at?
Assume you're the same Marshall from Vital who was unfailingly negative about everything?

why would i , bj is our player and he's staying. do you really believe that he'll be leaving ? are you so desperate for bj to leave ?
It's completely comparable, in pretty much every department.
If we sold Brennan for the amount you are saying we are paying too much for MGW you would be first to be complaining about it.
All him not being a starter at Wolves (at the minute) does is make him avalible for transfer for the likes of us. If his contract was longer there wouldn't even be a discussion and he would be in Wolves' team.
Also still waiting for the alternative which is better and cheaper.
Sounds like my wifeMarshall is Marshall, he was famous on Vital for this. Just grumbles about everything, won't answer questions, won't suggest alternatives etc just likes to criticise everything.
We usually do, probably a bit harder to pull that kind of thing off in the Premier League though!I'm betting that we come up with at least one transfer totally out of the blue that no-one had even mooted as a rumour.
Hmm so the question is what random player do I punt on, start a baseless rumour and look like a genius when he’s signed.I'm betting that we come up with at least one transfer totally out of the blue that no-one had even mooted as a rumour.
Anyone else of the opinion we’ve missed a bit of a trick in not signing the likes of Bowler,Twine,Wallace and Rothwell and loan them back to the championship as insurance in case the worst happens and we end up back in the championship?
ExactlyWhy on earth would a player come to us knowing that we don't actually want them whilst we're in the PL, knowing they're only here to go out on loan as a back-up just in case we get relegated?
We need to use our financial resources wisely. We have to replace the five loanees and add strength in depth with all the players coming in being available for the first-team squad. That's where our money should go, not to lower quality players who aren't going to play but are solely on the books 'just in case'.
Apart from the odd loan like Henderson, none of the players we bring in are going to be on one-year deals. Anybody that does come will be on 3, 4 or 5 year contracts. If the worst does happen and we do get relegated they'll be available for the Championship and another go at getting back up. Maybe one or two would want away but we wouldn't be forced to sell them all and the ones we did sell would still bring in a pretty penny, and we'd also have the parachute payments. We'd be able to afford to hoover up some of the better Championship talent available and we'd also still be able to use the loan market.
If bringing in players as an insurance policy against relegation was a good idea all clubs would be doing it. It isn't and they don't. Clubs don't want it and I doubt players want it either. If we did that, as a PL club we'd have to pay them PL wages. It's basically building an expensive bomb squad that we'd struggle to get off our books. We already know how damaging that has been to the club over so many years.
Snaffling up dozens of players not intended for the team and just sending them out on loan was a model Chelsea used. FIFA have moved to stop that.
Sounds like my wife
Unfortunately at the moment those fringe players have become first teamersAnd we already have fringe players (Mighten, Ojeda etc) and U23 hopefuls that we will probably loan out to gain game time and experience .

Who says we don’t want them. If they’re good enough they’ll make our first team squad,if they’re not they get a chance to go out on loan, develop and get experience at a higher level. Why on earth would a player come to us knowing that we don't actually want them whilst we're in the PL, knowing they're only here to go out on loan as a back-up just in case we get relegated?
Why? Do we have a game tomorrow?Unfortunately at the moment those fringe players have become first teamers
