I hope it was a free - I think it was described at the time as "an undisclosed fee"... hopefully we paid in buttons.... chocolate ones
Suspect he like Drager might have been stop-gap signings. Cheap and will be relatively easy to off-load.
But that is just assuming. Don't want to knock the players before they get to play.
He'd probably have more of a chance if our attacking players weren't all playing pretty well for Cooper.
Who would you leave out of the matchday squad to give him a chance? Mighten, Zinc, Johnson, Lolley, Grabban, Taylor? Even Carvalho can't break the squad whilst everyone is fit and available.
DRager would possibly step up to the mark if and when we lose Djed.

I suppose in an ideal world Murphy/Cooper would love to trade Cafu, Carvalho, Silva for another forward option they feel can influence the squad.
But like Murphy said, with getting unwanted players out (ie Jenk/Bong) and fine-tuning the squad it may take 3 transfer windows.
Even Carvalho?!. He hasn't "broken" any match day squads in years. More chance of him breaking wind....

Strange report in the Greek press that Aris would like him back. Strange not because he was poor for them (on the contrary, he was one of their best players last year), but because they already have four wingers. If there's any truth in the story, the reason is probably that their top signing in the wings, Argentinian / Paraguyan Juan Iturbe, has failed miserably to make an impression.
The report mentions that the added difficulty is that he's under contract, so I guess they could take him on loan if you don't want him.
Juan Iturbe’s star has fallen if he’s disappointing at Aris.
One in a long, long line of “next Messi”s

I remember that, along time ago, we signed a young Scottish lad dubbed “ the new Kenny Dalgleish”.
I saw him once in the stands at a reserve game and I never saw him again.
He looks unfit, untrained and unbothered by his downfall. Aris has not been very lucky with big names. The two biggest contracts are Iturbe and Aboubakar Kamara, and both have spectacularly underperformed. Stoke City's midfielder Badou N'Diaye, on the other hand, has been excellent for them, a real force in midfield.
Is Alan Mahon the player you're referring to RB?
I think it was Alan Mahood. Mid 80's?
The point being, you'll find more Forest fans that 'rate' him than Silva.
Yes because theres a cult amongst our fans based on about 3 good games (or more accurately about 20 decent passes) in 3 years.
I think it says it all that he hasn't made it on to the pitch under Cooper and given that we all seem to be able to agree that we trust in SC to deliver the goods hopefully that settles the argument that Carvalho is an unrecognised genius waiting for someone to unlock and unleash him on the Championship.
Still missing the subtleties, but carry on mate.
