Seems like he's being offered out on loan and we're among the clubs interested according to the Evening Standard.

Would seem like a Watson replacement, I know he's highly rated at Spurs and I think he's captained them throughout youth level.

I can’t see a 19 year old becoming ‘the brains’ of the team. Maybe he’s more of an upgrade on Yates. That said, there are several other clubs in for this player too.

    Perhaps that's the sell.

"We have good wing play but towards the end of the season suffered from the ability to dictate play and get the ball wide. We're looking towards Skipp to be that link player."

If he's pickled then probably better suited to Derby.

It possibly depends on how mature he is Ravi. I believe Mason Mount essentially pulled-the-strings in the Derby midfield, as too did Neves at a similarly early age at Wolves.

If we could get him on a Season Long loan, go for it. None of this 6 months bullshit. Cos if he came he'd be key. He does look classy and I think even at his age, he could play CDM and be discipline and make things tick for us. I suspect he'll go to a London club, however. But if we did get him, i'd want it to be a full season, cos he'd be in too key a role to then lose him.

Norwich are fast becoming my favourites to win the league next year.

I could never see us going for him seriously with our policy. Hasn't started much more than 5 senior games.

Which is a pity. The quality of the player is what counts and he is the sort of midfielder we need. Box-to-box like McGuane or sit and create.

Yeah couple of journos at the Standard and the Telegraph reporting it alongside the story of Joe Hart going to Spurs.

I suppose a lot will now depend on if Watson is at training today. If he is it's probably safe to assume he's signed the year extension and we'll only be after a number 10, if he isn't then we need another.

If he was Portuguese we'd have signed him already.

Without diminishing his contribution last season, I'm praying we offload Watson.

He was great last season but looked lost when Sow wasn't next to him. We need a much more dynamic midfield and the thought of a possible Colback and Watson partnership sends shivers down my spine.

If Watson had signed an extension we'd have announced it. Its not really something I'd imagine the club would keep quiet. Even if he is still training with us it may only be to keep fit until he has his new club sorted.

I don't think he'll stay personally, he'll want to move closer to home to finish his career IMO.

This always had the look of a parachute team loan paying a hefty loan fee.

I do think now is the time to part ways with Watson and either: play Colback there, get a younger replacement, or slightly change the system.

Ben Whiteman looks like a dead cert to move up this summer, will be interesting to see how he does.
