    Default Remembrance Display

Just a quick thanks to all in the Trent End who helped make yesterday so very special. A lot of people asking about the players on the banner etc. Hopefully you`ll get the time to read the stories on https://www.forzagaribaldi.com/the-f...ed-and-fought/

That’s an absolutely wonderful piece, and well worth everyone’s time to read and reflect on some of the genuine heroes who have represented this football club.

Hats off again to the Forza lads, those prematch displays are wonderful, especially so for those of us exiled far from home!

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Resisting the temptation to be controversial so I'll just say it was well observed

It's almost like it's ok to be proud to support our great club again.

Fantastic effort again from the Forza folk.

My thoughts 100%. The whole display, Last Post, minutes silence was all so beautiful. So very proud of my club. Forest till I die.

You know what, as I got to my seat and read "hold up during the minutes silence" I wasn't best pleased however, knowing how and what the display was has changed my mind.

I don't like anything politicising or using remembrance to show off but it was poignant and meaningful.

Wonderful display chaps. Forza G should be very proud of what they achieved on Saturday. Thank you (if any are on here).

It was fantastic in every way. Well done lads. The video about it was great too. Proud.

What was the banner someone had unfurled over the top of it from upper Trent? Over the word ‘with’? Shame that.

Brilliant display, well done all involved.
Apparently some of the war vets were taken aback by it and said it was the best one over the weekend throughout the league.

Only just realised that the colour scheme of the placards (green, yellow, red yellow green) is the colours of the Mercian Regiment, formerly The Sherwood Foresters inter alia.

    Lovely. Just lovely.

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

No she didn't. She was probably quite quiet as she's a Derby fan. Her boyfriend is a Forest fan though and as this is her second Forest game this season, I think he's trying to convert her.

Funny enough that’s the first thing I spotted!

The regimental motto is, „Stand Firm And Strike Hard“.

Which very much fits in with our style of play this season.

I guessed those colours were for the Sherwood Foresters Regt, but thank you all for confirming it. Sad that a lot of the older Regiments and Corps have disappeared, but I suppose that's the result of contraction of the armed forces.

I started by trying to draw a parallel between that change in the distribution of wealth and perceived requirements and the game we all love (most of the time!), but have given up; my little brain can't cope.

When I was touting Cobra Kai's very similar mantra for us, it was "negative Alf"!
