His whole punditry was an embarrassment, he seems to have the need to have his ego massaged non stop.
He's very insecure and always talks about his own legacy. Don't get me wrong, he's a great champion but he always seems to give himself a pat on the back and then does this sharp inhale and licks his lips.

It's quite funny to watch to be honest.

The very classy and smart Andre Ward had him worked out and put him in his place inside and outside the ring.

On the fight itself, I thought Manny was made to look silly, which is what I suspected would happen. As Mayweather says himself, there's no blueprint to beat him and he can adapt and change his style mid fight. He can shoulder roll on the ropes or stand in the centre of the ring. It must be so disheartening being in the ring with him, knowing nothing you do is going to work.

He is too smart and slick defensively and if you paid to watch the fight and you're moaning, I'm not sure what you're complaining about. You knew what you were going to get. A pure artist of boxing in action.

I hope that not many people that don't watch much boxing don't judge Manny too harshly on this fight. He has been superb for the sport. An absolute gentleman both inside and outside the ring. And now hope he hangs up his gloves and becomes an ambassador or similar for his country.

I think Mayweather had got at least one more fight in him. And I will be amazed if he doesn't go for Marciano's 49-0 record even though he says only one more fight as his ego will be eating at him. And although he is 2 years older than Manny he just hasn't been involved in the wars that Pacquiao has. Couple that with the fact that he is simply the best at that weight that I'm sure he will go for 50-0

Often though about getting one. Only a small un, but have decided against it due to having to leave it at home why we go to work and on holidays.

Manny being sued for not declaring shoulder injury ahead of fight -

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/32594782

"Two people in Nevada have alleged the boxer defrauded ticket buyers, television viewers and gamblers.

They have opened lawsuits just hours after the NAC accused the fighter of being dishonest. If the Filipino is found guilty of that charge, the penalty for perjury could be a jail sentence of between one and four years, and a fine of up to $5,000 (£3,305). "

Pacquiao blamed his points defeat on the injury - claiming it stopped him using his right hand - but a joint statement released by Team Pacquiao and his promoters Top Rank said the United States Anti-Doping Agency (Usada) had been notified during the fighter's training camp and on fight night.

They added that a Usada doctor sanctioned the use of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory on fight night, but the NAC did not allow it to be administered because they were "unaware" of the shoulder injury.

Met a guy yesterday who watched the fight live. Those tickets were hard to come by I understand. He wouldn't explain how. Needless to say he was minted and worked in the City. But even in those circles, they must have been limited?

If you can pick up tickets for that, you can get a ticket for practically any sporting event in the world.

Without trying to take anything away from Mayweather or Manny IMO both those boxers in that video were better than either of them. Which is no disgrace of course

They were better than most, the trouble is there's very few top boxers now and very few of the top ones want to fight each other.

Dennis Andries never got the recognition he deserved over here, probably because he lived in the shadow of the Bruno publicity machine for much of his career. One the hardest and humblest of British champions. When he won his first world title he caught the tube home alone with the belt in his kit bag.

He lost this one (28 years ago tomorrow) but his determination is legendary...

Thanks for sharing that. I remember winning a fiver on that fight. To be fair Andries showed some right balls in that fight against one of the best knockout fighters I've ever seen.
Hearns KO of Roberto Duran remains of of the very best I've seen.

"Marvellous" Marvin Hagler against Thomas Hearns is my all time favourite fight!

I used to like to watch Chris Eubank Snr fight. I always wanten him to lose because he was such an arrogant fighter, but a little bit of me was glad when he won so I could hate him and want him to lose the next fight!

Froch striped of WBA belt - http://www.nottinghampost.com/Carl-F...ail/story.html

Is that it for Carl? Seems a horrible way to end a career if so, just fading out.

I think to be honest, it is.

I can't see him wanting to fight Ward again (he'd lose) and it seems he's been unable to get a Vegas fight arranged.

Still, he has a career to be rightly proud of, he never shirked a fight and there's been some terrific bouts in there; Groves, Bute, Kessler I and II the Super-Six competition.

A shame Edwin Valero was such a tortured soul and killed himself. As I reckon he'd have been right up there now with Pacquiao and Mayweather in the p4p rankings, fighting the two of them.

And he was a frightening, vicious man. 27 fights, 27 KO's.

Quite a romantic way of describing a wife murdering coward. Each to their own, I suppose. I'd say the shame is he didn't top himself before taking an innocent life with him.
