    Default Munto Finance

Is anyone starting to wish they could of bought out us? With the bizarre going on at Notts, with Sven and now Sol Cambell, heading down to Meadow Lane. They have definitely signaled their intent. Where is this going to leave us in a few years time if we are both in the Championship? Does any one think we could have a scenario where they become the bigger draw in Nottingham? One thing you've got to hand to them is their PR is superb.

No. I'd rather not be owned by a company where so many details about them remained undisclosed. As a buyer for a FTSE 100 company, I wouldn't even consider working with a company that keeps so much secret.

I don't really care to be honest. There just another team that we would play in our league schedule. Nothing special about them, other than them being a very short away trip.

We've got a few years before we have to worry about this. They are in a position where they will definetly be promoted from League 2 and stand a good chance of going up very quickly from League 1. However, as we found out last year and Peterborough have found out this year, there is a huge chasm forming between the Championship and League 1.

Really? Kicking out Nottingham RFC after they helped them survive? Turning 360 on community deals made by the previous administration. Sorry, PR own-goals I'm afraid.

    Fuck no!

I'd have cried if a Middle Eastern Consortium bought us.

Good luck to County, I hope we play them in the Premiership in a few years time and are competing for Champions League spots.

Forest have the best kind of ownership going - a very wealthy fan of the club.

How much have County really spent? For the league, it's high, but people like Campbell are solely based on wages, which will be covered by the additional attention they are getting and the asociated sponsorship.

They've paid for Schmeichel since Munto took over, and that's about it.

They're still using our YT right back, lets not forget.

Good luck to them, but to trade Doughty in for a ME consortium is the sort of short sighted view people have become indoctrinated to with the Premiership bollocks.

Lets keep Forest run as Forest. Lets keep the Nottingham in at least one of Nottingham's football clubs, and lets achieve the old fasioned and admirable way.

    Talk to me, Goose.

I was going to bold the bits I agreed strongly on but in all honesty it's pretty much everything you have said.

Fair play to County for getting Sven etc in, but there is only so much these players can do. It's like Real Madrid for league two, full of stars but can't win owt

I think I'll stick with what we have thank you.

Munto finance are a fantstic opportunity and adventure for Notts County and some of their supporters. Sadly, whilst many of those supporters will continue to be level headed and reasonable, the idiot element - typified by our poster itsjoshmeowd, will carry on as if they've won everything going before a ball is kicked and go from being the idiot element to arsehole element. This will create bad feeling where basically there was none and no need for any.

I actually feel for the proper Notts County supporters who will be tarred with the same brush as these imbeciles.

I wish County well on their adventure. Lets hope in 10 years time they are known for more than being the oldest league club in the world.

Heard an intresting theory about munto finance and in nut shell it was they are only intrested in county because of the land and they will be buying and doing up all the properties around the ground which includes buidling a casino on that where the cattle market is etc etc. Corse i take these kind of storys with a big pinch of salt but clubs like real madrid have the same kind of thing where they own alot of property around the city and when it comes time to buy a alot of players they just sell some off.

I don't think Notts County own any of the land other than Meadow Lane itself though, whether Munto have acquired it or not I couldn't say.

I can't see Notts going anywhere anytime soon.

The Sven factor will wear off when he realises that he doesn't want to be going to Exeter on a tuesday night or would rather go watch England play than see Notts v Rochdale and he just becomes less bothered. The novelty will wear off, media interest will die down, Sven will stop attending games things will go back to normal and the footballing world will be back in balance.

A bean counter at our place who's also a Forest fan said that League 1/2 clubs can only sign players up to a total of 60% of their previous year's income, which ever so slightly exceeds the amount Notts have paid for Svennis and the signings. However! this can be circumvented provided the club has donations from an outside source, which in this case would be the Invisible Cash-Rich Middle Easterns of course. That though would require... that the donor's name be made public. Tax and all that. It could be that we're about to find out who the backers behind Munto really are.

Isn't ML owned by a trust and loaned out to Notts in perpetuity provided it's always used as a football ground? I may be wrong, but I read it on the internet so it must be true. *hides*

Unless the donors name can simply be listed as 'Munto'

You could well be right, I have no idea aside from a snivelling Notts fan once leveraging their supposed ownership of the land their ground stands on in some pointless exercise in pedantry that they used to revel in.

No chance I'd see Forest owned by a company thats name resembles a minger !

Under the Sven hysteria they have changed the badge already, almost too quickly. Whilst it may be a bit of fun for some arab, the moment things go sour he will get bored and bugger off to a sucessful team for instant glory. I can see the attraction of buying a club like County and upping them through the leagues (I think we may all of done it on FM) but something doesn't feel right. It's almost too good to be true, and things this good usually end up with a nasty ending in football

I actually want to see them at the top (with us) but somethings telling me that somethings not right. I like the way we are run (apart from past transfer dealings) and see us as one of the genuine football clubs still near the top that have the old feeling about them. I wouldnt change that one bit !

To be fair I thought the changing of the badge was a good move to symbolise the new direction that the owners wanted to take county in.

It wouldn't be a bad badge other than that ridiculous purple stripe and H.

before they get to the Championship it will be turned into Asda, Comet B&Q and a car park for the City Ground.
Notts will never see a crowd again anyway

I trawled through the old suporter's trust website when Munto took over, there are some details on there about them securing a long lease on ML for a nominal fee.

I think the H is in support of nott'm rugby club I find it strange that notts are still running their Lifeline fund raising group which was born out of their 1986 financial crisis, maybe sadpies fans are expecting Munto to do a runner someday
