Default Notts County improvement=Boost for Forest?

Does anyone else think that all this attention Notts are getting has given Doughty the kick up the ass and has caused him to open his wallet?

I think Doughty will want to make sure that we stay as the Premier club in Nottingham

The one thing I noticed was something Sven was just asked on SSN.

He was asked about Nottingham's bid to host the 2012 World Cup and he said he was asked to be an ambassidor for the City during the bid. He then mentioned building a new stadium.

Just got me thinking, this new stadium. Is it just Forest? Or has Sven got himself all mixed up with the goings on?

Nah, we've been serious about promotion for ages.

Honestly though, I think League One was a kick up the arse, and us nearly going back there at the first time of asking was a bigger one still.

Doughty had to have realised that he needed to spend just to stay in the division.

He's probably also realised that spending wouldn't be such a problem with Sky money in the top flight.

Yet more reason to stay at the City Ground

I'm really starting to wonder if County will be in for the new stadium. Lets face it, if they do well there's no reason why they can't be up there somewhere in a position to use it.

All the best to them, there may be a rivalry but anything that pushes the city's footballing up the ladder has got to be good right !

Fucking hell, we'd have looked silly enough with a 40-50k capacity stadium, imagine if the Sadpies had one! lol

If Doughty or anyone else at Forest was making decisions based on what County were doing then I'd be worried.

Funnily enough I've just updated the blog with a post asking the same question.

For the record, I don't think he is

    No.

Doughty actually supports Forest, and will make his own choices.

just for the record is this the most we have spent/ bought since the platt era?

the glory in all this Forest spending like rabbits/Notts appointing Sven business is that the city of Derby is barely getting a mention, despite their sexy signings.

Soon to be the 4th club in the East Midlands. Unlucky!

Not at all, ND and BD will have been working all close season to bring in the players they have. It's not related to the county freak show inn any fashion!

Speaking of which, for the sake of Notts I hope the rumours about Platt are false! That man can do no good anywhere

I wonder if they'll give us all our money back when we saved their p.i.s.s poor club. I for one think this is is all a big farce. Cant see Sven sticking around when thy're struggling half way down the league on a wet january night. They've got 4th division payers. Platt will end up as manager. They're pretty much buggered then eh?!
    Lets hope so.
    I cant stand em.........
