Default Cover versions, which are better than the original?

The original is a lovely version but this dude does it in a spine tingling manner. Like a ghost licking your spine.

I meant to add 'ones' in the title but forgot.

Limp Bizkit - Behind Blue Eyes

To my shame I didn't even realise it was a cover until I saw the Who live and they performed it.

But I think it is actually better than the original despite the fact the Who are a million times better than Fred Durst's lot.

This is a nice cover version too. Maybe not better but equal to the original.

No, it is private. Sometimes thoughts should remain that way.

Cover of the Bob Dylan original. It's sung better in my opinion. Generally better than Dylan's version in most ways.

    cash...hurt
sinead o connor....nothing compares to you (and Prince is one of my idols, but Sinead totally eclipses his version)
    A-Ha...crying in the rain
knocking on heavens door is evens between dylan and guns n roses
Hallelujah is evens on many due to style, eah one giving a different interpretation, so close

Stevie Ray Vaughan's version of Voodoo Chile is better than the Hendrix version and his Superstition is better than Stevie Wonder's.

Three fantastic versions of the same song, '' Don't Leave me this way ''

released in the early seventies Thelma Huston, fantatsic base line

Mid/late seventies Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, really great range of vocals

early eighties Communards just a totally different arrangement

All so good and different, dependant on mood which is the best.

Anything from Rage Against The Machine's fantastic covers album "Renegades".

Particular highlights for me: "Renegades of Funk" and "Kick Out The Jams".

Wrong, wrong, wrong. So wrongly wrong it needs a few more wrongs. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

EmEt13 - you're wrong about Jeff Buckley as well. It's a nice enough cover version but no way better than the original. Missing Marr's orchestration and Morrissey's delivery.

Heard this on Craig Charles last night:

Who would have thought a black American could sing a soul tune better than a white Welsh girl?

Cover versions better than the original? Most of Led Zeppelin's debut album.

You can't say wrong/incorrect. You can say "I disagree"

I reserve the right to state opinion as fact when it comes to Bob Dylan.
