Thread: Embodiment

  1. #1

    Default Embodiment

We all thrive on different things, but certain Iconic iconess just captures a certain time, vibe, spirit etc. better than anything else for some people.

So which things embody the very essence of something for you?

Here's a few of mine to start the ball rolling.........

    90's Dance.....

    Nottingham Forest........

    Melodic Guitar........

    Filth.....

    Ambition......

End of the thread for me
Nowt embodies anything more than this man. You can add as many adjectives as you want on the end of this but for me ‘excellence’ will do.

    Default Embodiment

I often slip motivational quotes from Mr. Clough into my project meetings.

As yet, I have not been rumbled by any of the Germans for this, I believe they think I’m some kind of eccentric.

But yes. Mr. Clough was the essential role model for me. The embodiment of integrity and confidence.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

You must have a cracking zoom lens on that camera to get a photo of that quality from the top tier.

Some taches and a Pringle jumper on display, must be early/mid 80‘S. Can’t make out the ground, might be Leeds Road, Huddersfield, they had covered terracing on the side and open terracing behind the goal.

Doohan was badass, here he's wheeling and drifting out of a corner on what's best described as an unrideable, 500cc, screaming two stroke

Won’t argue with most of those but Snap were shite. Wannabees. As serious as cancer? Rubbish line. The epitome of 90s dance is either Bassheads Is anybody out there, or N-Joi anthem, surely.

Though the greatest dance track of all time was released at the end of the 90’s (just) and that’s Darude ‘Sandstorm’.

Agreed with the cancer line, should have posted this version.......

But yeah, Sandstorm, Insomnia, so many amazing dance tunes. Reason I chose RIAD is it's because it's the one which I heard first as a kid. It kinda signalled the mass wave of dance to come. More about a time & a place for me.

It’s just a googled image Baz not sure who or where it is, but it captures a period. I’m guessing Huddersfield v Leeds early/mid eighties, I remember one particular year around that time Leeds caused havoc everywhere. Including setting a burger van on fire at Bradford and pushing it down the terrace.
