Not so much the urinating, and it wasn't really fighting, more a lesson being handed out about being polite.

On the rare occasion I hear Annie's song, im right back there in 2003 in the away end.

Never felt emotion like it before or since from a game of football. Maybe we all knew what was coming next.

You're right there. There were a bunch of em in that corner area that were "fooking" this and "fooking" that, and a large group did decide to give em a lesson so to speak

    1. The Yeovil collapse. It took all summer to get over that one I think it effected the team still into the next season.

    2. Relegation to League One season. I remember being oddly optimistic that pre-season as well, maybe I fell for that we are serious about promotion shtick.

    3. All the humilating cup and away defeats in the Megson legue. Does anyone remember half time at Yeovil?

    4. The Steve Cotterill era, it was a depressing time anyway with the untimely death of our owner without having to watch the non scoring turgid stuff we were forced to endure on the pitch.

    5. Billy Davies mk II period. It was embarrassing really watching the reputation of the club get dragged through the mud during this era. Out of all of his mishaps giving Toxic Billy free reign was one of Fawaz' biggest mistakes which we have barely recovered from.

There is so many I could give honurable mentions to like our other playoff capitulations as well as the latest one. The thread should have been top 20 worst it might have been a bit easier to fit everything in then!

Some already mentioned would probably make up my top 5 with the 3-0 home loss to Plymouth on my Birthday being right up there.

I'll add a couple of more recent ones that deserve a mention but aren't anywhere near bad enough to make top 5

Selling Oli Burke, when the photo popped up on Twitter with him holding the Leipzig shirt my stomach turned.

John Jay Moores' takeover collapsing at the 11th hour in January 2017 when we hadn't won a game in over a month and it looked like relegation was pretty much a certainty.

For me the worst moments are the relegations as the rubber stamp the collective weekly frustration, poor decision making, embarrassing performances. The premier league ones as they were on my school years. Growing up in Gloucester I was the only lad in my year who supported the reds. However, that did mean I was well regarded as being a 'real' fan because I supported a shit team. So collective relegations No. 1

    2) The Summer of 2003. Losing to Sheffield United was devastating, but also a season of great pride. One of, if not the best, footballing sides in the league with young academy players the core of team. As heartbroken as I was, there was a feeling that 'next year'... we didn't even need any new faces... a month later, Lester, Scimeca and Brennan all gone soon to be followed by Reid, Dawson, Williams and Harewood...future hope and optimism gone.

    3) League One seasons/Megson Era. Everything about them. Losing 5-0 away at Oldham.. losing to Chester... being introduced as 'double European Cup Winners' then go and be torn apart by non league clubs. A horrible time for any red.

    4) The death of Nigel Doughty. A great man, made some mistakes but without him there quite possibly wouldn't have been an NFFC.. special mention to moron fans that protested and hounded him. Those moments make me ashamed to be a Forest fan. Fawaz he was not.

    5) odd choice here. The Summer of 1992. A random 'off season' and I'll include the first week of the new campaign as well. 1992 Forest were a big club. We'd had 15 years of challenging domestically and (had it not have been for Liverpool/corrupt officials) we might well have added to a trophy cabinet in Europe. Two fateful decisions in that Summer almost set the scene for what was to come. We sold Des Walker and Teddy and never replaced them. Similar stories in 1998, 2003 etc but this was the catalyst for our decline. Football had a boom period - who on earth could foresee Middlesborough signing Brazilians and getting 35k a match?! - and we watched on at the sidelines.

Play off defeats are tough but they follow good seasons. Stoke capitulations, let's be honest we were not a good side anyway - that was embarrassing more than anything.

Still I wonder how many other clubs could fill a thread with such heartbreak, dejection and disappointment. I guess that does make us real fans.

A little surprised so many people have the FA Cup final on their list. Yes we lost arguably under dodgy circumstances but fuck me that was a great day out.

    I missed out on the L1 debacle so can’t comment on that but in no particular order;

1988 and 89 FA Cup Semi Finals. The second one for obvious reasons but being beaten twice by the Scousers denying us of getting a chance at the trophy Brian wanted.

Bramall Lane x 2. That place. The playoff game and the Cup game under Davies.

Spurs final. Ah well, at least we won it in 1959.

Man Utd League Cup final defeat. As someone else said, this seemed like the beginning of the demise.

Relegation/Brian Clough retirement. The end of a great era and truly entering the unknown. Remember feeling partly excited about going to visit some new grounds but also felt a bit lost.

    FA Cup 1st Round

    Johnstone's Paint Trophy

    Sacking the KING

    Appointing Sabri Montanier

The 5-0 defeat at Derby wasn’t too bad for me, I was there and it was more like watching the trailer for a Carry On film than a disaster. The only thing that irritated me that day was seeing Jamie Ward with his pin head fist pumping the air in front of us.
When we started singing “we are Nottingham Forest, it is what it is” I couldn’t stop laughing. I’m sure Davies shot a dead eye over to us at that point

I do thrive on how you refer to Davise as "THE KING" constantly though. Top lad

But if Billy was the king, what does that make Brian? And Frank Clark and Dave Bassatt for that matter?

He wasn't even the best manager we've had called Billy.

As a kid my first taste of heartache and disappointment was at St James's Park in the spring of 1974.

That still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, but as a kid it was hard to take. Standing on the terracing with my dad watching those events unfold before my eyes was very scary and sad too.

Then we were robbed in the replay at Goodison Park, that was the first and only time I cried as a Forest fan.

Ever since then I've hated NUFC and their fans nearly as much as I hate LFC and their scummy fans.

A few weeks previous to this, Duncan McKenzie had single handedly dumped first division Manchester City out of the cup. We really did believe it was going to be our year, until that St James's Park fiasco.

Little did I know that in less than 12 months later, things were going to be very different with the appointment of Mr Brian Clough.

    What school out of interest?

    For me:

    1) Relegation to League one at Loftus road - truly depressing day
    2) Yeovil
    3) Sacking Bill Davies - the realization at that point it could take years to return to those dizzy heights...
    4) Chester in the Cup
    5) Blackpool Play Offs

Slightly random one here. 17/11/1979 Forest 0 Brighton 1. 9 year old me, stood on a stool in the Colwick Road end. Forest hadn't lost a home league game since division 2 days which was before I started going. We were European champions - they were relegation fodder. We were going to smash them. They got a goal. We got a penalty. Robbo MISSED! This is impossible I could not compute what was happening. Went home, absolutely crushed. I've hated Brighton ever since.

They beat us at their place too.

The last time we’d been beaten at home was against Cardiff in the promotion season.

There were children crying everywhere! Forest just didn't lose at home. And certainly not to rubbish like Brighton! I'm numb to it all now. I could see the Stoke situation coming and it didn't bother me much but my younger son was absolutely gutted. Took me right back. Forest should be done for child abuse.
