Default Playing out the remainder of the Championship season in my shed

We've all suddenly got a lot of time on our hands. I'm going to play out the season on YouTube. Might as well share.

Starting from the first postponed game - Friday 13th March Fulham v Brentford.

Will go to YouTube type the name of the two teams ("Fulham Brentford") and the first game in the search results between these two team with the correct side at home (in this case Fulham) gives me the score. And highlights to give me some football to watch. On desktop, just in case the app search works differently.

As most recent results are likely to top the search results, to add a little randomness to the search I will start the search with a season (ie "2003-04 Fulham Brentford")

To get the year, I'm going to visit efl.com/news/news-archive and using each report in order from the top take the name of the first team that appears in the article, and my year will be the last time said team made an appearance in any cup final. Will find a new year in the Youtube for every single day on the remaining Championship calendar - so a bunch of Saturday fixtures could all be 94-95, Sunday fixtures might then be 72-73. If a new article appears at the top, I shall move on to that one after finishing the current one. Then pick up where I left off in the order after that. Won't use the same season in the search twice. If the season has already been used I'll move on to the next team.

If no game shows up, then I'll take out the year. If still no game shows, unlikely I suspect, the result is 0-0 move on.

If I get the wrong year because I missed a cup final for a team, you may lodge an appeal, but it will likely fall on deaf ears. Football governance is inherently unfair. This is nothing new. We still love it.

    Right, good.

Ok, I've got to work. But just to kick things off.

Fulham v Brentford- Friday 13th March.

The first team I get on from EFL archive page is Macclesfield Town. They last played in a cup final, The FA Trophy, in 2016-17.

Searching 2016-17 Fulham Brentford returns this result first:

    https://youtu.be/DdTIH3gWTsk

Brentfica tear Fulham apart in the West London rugger wino fan derby

Not sure if that's a good result for Forest or not. Probably not.

Big dent in Fulham's automatic promotion hopes. Brentford up to 63 points.

Can we parachute Malmo, Hamburg, Cologne etc into the Championship?

And finally, with Eddie Yates on a Leo Sayer in Sheffield...

Sheffield Wednesday 0 Nottingham Forest 1

    A Raddy winner for Alf.

The other team mentioned in the EFL article was Crewe Alex, who last played in a final in 2012-13 - FL Trophy. That was the season for those searches.

Derby are going to sneak into the play offs.
No they aren’t. They’re too far behind.
There’s always one form team who goes late into the play offs and wins them.
    No there isn’t.
I’m sick of hearing the media mentioning Rooney all the time.

I suggest you widen your search to 'Wayne Rooney's Derby County'.

That is the stand out result of the day. No doubt about it. Against another team chasing the play off positions too.

    We were lucky yet again.
Winning games isn’t going to mask the poor recruitment for long. *cherry picked player from the current form list* would have scored more for us. Why doe this club get everything wrong?
Yay we’re in the top six.
Boo we’re going to crash and burn like we always do.
    Super Ben Watson
    Lamouchi is the best.
