Sheff Wed or Leeds for me as well.

Millwall from down south for noise if not numbers (when they aren't being dicks) with an honourable mention for Pompey as well.

Chelsea that season we gave them the Lower Exec. Nevin scored and there was bloody celery everywhere.

Wednesday numbers have always impressed me as they've had some dire teams over the years.

Always been inpressed with the numbers from Arsenal, Spurs, Wham and Cheslea, however well they've been doing they always sold their allocation in the 90's 2000's.. Spurs would bring 1000's for a mid week cup game.. Not sure they are the loudest but good numbers and always pretty dodgy back in those days (which was quite exciting as a young kid)..

There was one year (66-67 season I think) when the official attendance was declared at 49,900 (but the reality was there were probably >50,000 crammed into the ground.
Me and my mates waited in line to get into the Trent End, only to have the turnstile gates shut as we were nearing the front.
We raced around to the Spion Kop end and were able to get in among the United fans.
They were excellent, letting us make our way towards the front, and even when we were tonking them 4-1, they kept on being friendly and singing for their team.
It wasn't many seasons after that hooliganism became de rigueur, and the United firm ransacked a pub on London Road, and generally were obnoxious swine.
49,946 was the official attendance. I was in the Trent End. After about 20 minutes, we were shoved about 15 yards towards the East Stand.
It was widely thought that a few thousand United fans had burst through an exit gate. That's where the theory that the real gate was well over 50,000 came from.

Didn't Southampton get given the Trent End for a cup game once? Whoever it was, they filled it. I was on the Kop.

Yes they did, my old man still talks about that Southampton game, he said Chelsea had the Trent End around the same time and filled it as well.

For Millwall, mid-table, to bring 936 on a Friday night for a game live on screen was pretty impressive.

I was in the Trent End when we got almost 50,000 v Man U, but it was 3-1 not 4-1 (I think that was the previous season and I wasn't at that one). I remember girls screaming every time Best got the ball. Still think it was great that we could beat a United side containing Best, Law and Charlton.

    On and off the pitch....

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

Tbf I genuinely believe Forest's away following is up there with some of the best in the country. When you consider what dross we've witnessed over the last 20 years it's incredible really.

Ergo, the best away fans I've seen at the WFCG are Forest's.
