I thought they eventually got busted like every crew eventually does. Forest never recovered from over a hundred banned for ten years.
I meant that they watch Newport instead now rather than any hooli stuff.

Ah right. Possibly, those that didn’t get bans.

Speaking of nutters from back in the day, did any of you old uns know Paul Scarrott? Always wondered whether his reputation was justified.

Paul Scarrott was Bryn Gunn off here’s dad.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

So they are basically reading fans who shop in farm foods rather than Waitrose?

Growing up in the northeast I know a few of the main players from Sunderland ......apparently DS...Forest boy ( anyone in the know will be able to work out who I’m referring too) could hold his hands up...... PS was a mouthpiece .....in fairness Gary Clarke’s book is a fair reflection of the players and the times ....

The bully boys all turned up stood on the door staring people out. When the meeting started they broke up the meeting by openly standing up during the discussion and offering people out. Lots of people left the meeting at that point, either in fear, disgust or both.

Forest executive crew ....decent read to be fair......take away the violence and focus on the culture at the time.....I’d recommend Scally by a Andy Nichols

I remember something about that but I thought they were against those who supported the colour/badge change. (Not doubting you pal, just questioning my shit memory!)

From what I’ve been told he became a bit of a liability in the sense he drew too much attention from the authorities but was apparently as ‘game’ as they came.

I read a story about him in the Portsmouth book (I think), one of their boys knocked him clean off his feet, then Scarrott still on the floor looked up and said ‘i suppose you think that’s funny’. The Portsmouth fans fell about laughing and he ended up drinking with them all day.
Just a big character, there’s loads of funny stories.

I know 2 people, one of which was a copper who sat in the back of a van with him back from Norwich, who both said what a nice bloke he was and pretty intelligent too.

I'm sure I heard some where, Paul's mum was a magistrate or something similar?

It all went off at Newport when Orient went down there a couple of years ago. Newport put all the windows through in a fucking Wetherspoons where kids and families were eating. Police did nothing.

Wrexham - Orient was a bit lively too.

The Welsh obviously have nothing better to do than fight the English.

When Cardiff played Mansfield in the Cup the other year they had a tough time. From what I read on the Cardiff forum around 200 Mansfield attacked a pub (Brunells I think) with a dozen or so Cardiff in there.
There’s been past battles with Newport and Wrexham as well. Definitely a theme there.
