Default Absolute Musical Belters that you still love to hear...

As an antithesis to the „Classic songs that you can’t stand anymore“ thread, and separate from the general „Now Playing“ thread, here’s a thread for those absolute classics that you loved then, love now, and still sound as fresh as ever.

I’ll start off with one of my personal favourites, it’s 40 years old and I bought the album when it came out:

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Astral weeks. One of the greatest albums ever made. The bass is sublime.

I was nearly 8 when this was released, it sounded different to everything else, and still does. Watched it on the TOTP repeats with my daughter when she was about 8 and she was transfixed by it (great video too and Midge's sideburns are an outstanding effort)

I knew you’d post that and it’s also the first song that came into my head.

From an artistic POV it’s a brilliant piece of music, the arrangement sets a sinister feel which relates to the lyrical content. The delay on the guitar works in the same way, it’s that skyscraper sound that creates a visual image of flying in.
    Very good musicianship.

Another song I’d pick is Transmission by Joy Division.
I must’ve heard it a million times and even played it in one band, but even now when I hear that intro of synth and bassline I get goosebumps.

I've probably played this album on an almost-weekly basis for nearly 50-years........

Modern Age by The Strokes. The live studio version that kicks this off is unimprovable:

PS, can you lot start naming the songs when you link, so we all know whether it's worth clicking?

EDIT: Or even better, embed the vids!

And of course, no thread of absolute classics would be complete with quite possibly, the greatest 2:45 ever committed to vinyl. I bought this when it came out as well, and, wow:
