They were a great band, love Dreamer, one of my earliest memories of music. My uncle played it constantly on a 45 when I was a wee lad.

Their music sounds like a bunch of blokes turned up with their instruments and just had an impromptu jamming session. They sound like they’re having so much fun.

I put on Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" double LP last night.
Not having played it for several years, I was interested to find out if it had stood the test of time.
My conclusion: it is an absolute belter, right from the opening track on Album 1, Side 1 "Funeral for a Friend" right to the final track on side 2 of the 2nd album ("Harmony"), every track is brilliant.
And when "Benny and the Jets" started, I was immediately transported back to the upstairs bar at the Salutation, with its incredible Juke Box.
Benny and the Jets was played so often it must have nearly worn through to the other side.
My favourite track from the album has to be:

    I still love this:

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Love Siouxsie. Have you seen the tribute band Lizzie and the Banshees? They’re worth seeing if you get the chance.

No, but I saw Siouxsie and the band when I was at uni. I spent most of the concert holding a cassette player under my coat recording the concert for a friend while he danced along to the music. I never got a copy of it or even heard it so I don't know how it turned out.

I wasn't a big fan of the band at the time, apart from Hong Kong Garden. They played a Clash album as warm up and I thought that was much better than their set.

No idea why, but I'm listening to some old school rave/happy hardcore this morning.
