Be interesting to see who'd win that, and whether generational viewing affected it.

Silenzi obviously. The sheer joy of wondering whether and how he was taught to walk let alone play football?

In real life, Psycho without doubt.

    Shilton was immense.

But for me, it’s still Psycho.
Collymore is also an arsehole of a human being

    1) Pearce
    2) Keane
    3) Collymore
    4) Chapman - still to this day I'm angry that we sold him
    5) Woan - easily as good as Stone but never got the recognition/caps

You missed out on so much by just 10 years , Antonio was probably as good as one of Collymores legs .
Shorey was as good as Pearce's left hand .
Add countless other players Clough who was so underrated, Keane, Teddy Sheringham, Bryan Roy, Des Walker , the list goes on .
I may have been too young to remember us winning the European cups but I was so lucky to have stood in Trent end to watch the greatest Leftback to ever pull on a the shirt.
You got excited when he picked up the ball outside of the box and lashed it in with a speed I have never seen since.
No other defender offered us so much goal threat , A true Leader and a person who you would never want to see in front of you.

    Stuart Pearce is God.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Nigel is one of my all time favourite players. He was a No.10 when nobody played a 10, which is why he was ruined when he left the WFCG. He'd be amazing in this day and age. No Adam's & Bould taking it in turns to slide through him from behind.
Better than Sherringham and underrated by even his own fans. Deserves far more respect than he gets before you even factor in he's the son of God.

When you look at how the modern game is played, with the focus on intelligent players and the prohibition of absolute cloggers, Nigel Clough in the modern era would be a sensational player, he’d be amongst the top ten at the highest level.

Look at de Bruyne at Man C. The „Number Nine“ would excel at that kind of role.

All I've known is shit other than promotion but I still wasn't that involved then, just the odd game really and a couple of PO seasons during my first ST years. Considering this is the 11th consecutive ST/C, you can understand me never getting that excited or down over Forest

Club captain. The one and only Ian Bowyer

Well put. Particular talent, vision and flair is timeless. I'd certainly put Des Walker and Tony Woodcock up as being as relevant today as they were in their hay days too.

    Pearce for me.
We signed him and Butterworth from Cov, it was a dull affair, but what a player Pearce turned out to be for us, and England.

Just about to turn 24 so was still wearing nappies when we were last in the top flight. Best player I've seen play for us was Antonio.

Favourite player was probably Majewski, but in terms of the most important I'd probably go with Julian Bennet. Bennet was a top guy and was instrumental in lifting us out of the darkest period of our history.

Probably a tad controversial for what happened after but I have to choose PVH. Played such a massive part in us storming the league the year we went up under Bassett. He was the best player in the division by a million fucking miles.

Bomber is only second to Joe Baker, and just ahead of Jeff Whitefoot for me in respect of our best buys.

Bowyer is definitely top of the most under rated Forest players list.

And - if for nothing else - „Bomber“ will always be a legend for scoring that goal in the second leg of the European Cup semi-final away at 1. FC Köln, that saw Forest win 1-0 after the (in)famous 3-3 home game („Forest sunk by Japanese sub“) which prompted Mr. Clough to famously say „I hope nobody is stupid enough to write us off?“

This thread does prove we've actually signed some fantastic players over the years.....Joe Baker, Terry Hennessey, Kenny Burns, Peter Shilton, Gary Birtles (signed from a non league Club - how often does that happen nowadays, Ian Bowyer (one of the most underrated players in our history), Stuart Pearce, Stan Collymore, Ian Woan (another signing from a non -league Club)....I'd say our 2 best signings were Birtles & Woan.....from a value for money point of view...
