Looking at the situation at Sheff U John Fleck's on fire this season, Freeman went there to cover Fleck & Duffy so from that angle it makes sense. Freeman is cover for Fleck, but so is Osborn, and Osborn was the preferred option to Freeman in recent weeks on the bench.

Also, Freeman's a Southerner, so we've that in our favour as the extra hour or so trip down South from Leeds might put him off going there a bit.

Another good thing is that we'll know Freeman will be fit too. Wilder has kept even the more fringe players in top shape, so no worries on that front. Wilder always speaks well about Forest, and the Osborn deal shows we've already established transfer relationships therre, so another plus.

Only kicker what I'm slightly weary about it that Worrall has been linked with a move to Sheff U, so that may be part of the price we have to pay for Freeman.

Freeman's also more of a hole player () than a wide man, but he can play on the left too, it's just not his best position.

Und finally Callum Robinson may be worth a gander there too.

He's got a quick feet and a quick brain. Not necessarily quick in terms of straight line pace.

Would be a superb addition though.

Looks like it's us and Leeds interested in this one. Would take some persuading to turn his head our way.

As far as I can see Leeds are linked with every decent potential signing by any Championship club.

This is either agent talk or lazy journalism and I wouldn’t take it too seriously.

As I say above mate, I think we've a few things in our favour, being an hour closer to his roots for one.

Leeds also can't sign ALL the players they are in for, and have Harrison & Hernedez filling similar roles. Freeman would come here pretty much guarenteed to start, with one of Ameobi or Silva making way depending on the game. Here he'd be a clear favourite first teamer, whereas at Leeds he'd face stiffer competition.

Doesn't guarantee anything, but we do have things we can offer.

What do Leeds have to offer? Being in the Prem? Well if that's all that mattered to him he'd stay at Sheff U anyway.

Good addition but we would still need to bring in another winger as Freeman wouldn't give you that all out raw pace and trickery on the counter which is what we're crying out for.

Feels more like a Carvalho replacement, which if we can sort with player departing giving us more money than we spend on player incoming would make a lot of sense.

Yes please. Even if we just wrote off what they owe for Benny I still think we’d have the better end of the deal

I'd really like him to come to Forest.

Not sure where he'd play though?

Don't think he's an 8/10. I think he's at his best playing wide, but then cutting inside, bit like Reidy used to, making him hard to pick up and them able to find space.

But then if we signed that Boulaya guy, we'll have about 6 options out wide.

Most would say we only have Lolley and Sammy who are good enough, and for some the jury is out on the latter.

Now we also have Diakhaby, but I can understand why it's an area we are trying to strengthen.

If we play 4231 we need 6 options for the 3.

We could have Lolley, Diakhaby, Ameobi, Boulaya, Freeman, Mighten, Adomah

That would be overkill, even if Adomah needs melting down for glue. Blocks off opportunities for Mighten, and would probably see us shoehorn Freeman into 10 where he isn't as effective.

I would like Freeman, just think it will end up meaning we've got too many players again.

Really hope this one gets done. Creativity in abundance, good age and has plenty of experience in this league.

You think Adomah is a good option currently?

Mighten would be best going out on loan imo. He's a 17 year old making his first steps towards first team football rather than a player who's ready for a promotion push.

Not at all! But Sabri's continued to give him opportunities over Mighten, which is madness, so he obviously seems some value in him still.

Mighten is only 17 but he has it in him to play against men and make impacts in games, ideally off the bench.

Like I said, I like Freeman, but i'm just cautious of us having a ridiculously bloated squad again. Rotating them all is what stopped any momentum under Karanka.
