    Default Glenn Murray

Decent professional knows this division and is knocking on a bit,his manager says he can go out on loan this window. And we are odds on favourite to sign him.

Whether he would be a good signing for us would depend on what kind of deal it is, which may be dictated by other clubs offering Brighton money for him or even the player himself.

Would I take him on loan until the end of the season? Absolutely, he's a very good player at this level, his record speaks for itself.

Would I want us to sign him on a permanent deal? Hell no, I wouldn't want to pay a transfer fee and hand out a lengthy contract to someone his age.

Good player at this level and would give us more options.
Yes on a loan, Jutkiewicz on a perm.

Would be fantastic on a loan. Great finisher.

Would cope physically, decent feet & scores goals. Offers something different to Grabban.

    No brainer on loan.

No spring chicken, but as a backup aerial threat on loan then fair enough.

We dont need a spring chicken, we need a certainty... Gayle is an expensive certainty, Murray wouldnt be.

I'd be delighted with Murray on loan. Or at the absolute most an 18month deal. Any longer than that and I think we enter the territory of us counting down his undoubted expensive contract in a year's time.

I'd also be very happy with Juke on a permanent.

We desperately need quality service though to either.

No point in getting him unless we also get some decent wingers who can deliver quality balls into the box.

    Seems an ideal choice.

Would Brighton let him go? Sinister says no, so that's sorted. Or is it?

Would he drive this far North? Surely if he goes on loan a London club would suit him better.

This transfer stuff is fun, isn't it?

I know it is twitter, but the push back against Murray surprised me.

If it is a loan till the end of the season, it is a no brainer. Gives us something different, yes he is 36 but to come in and do a job for 6 months I struggle to see the downside. Like others have said though, if it is a Murphy like deal with a few million to Brighton and a 3 year deal, stay well clear.

We can be thankful that Twitter opinion no longer has any influence on decision making at the CG.

Isn’t he just another Daryl Murphy minus the coke or is he more mobile?

Tbf, I don't think Adomah's been as bad as some make out, he still delivers some decent crosses, he just rarely has any decent options.

If Murphy was an option I think we'd get more out of Adomah as a last 10-20 min option.

Really? Bizarre. I know it's no marquee signing, but in the context of the job that is required it makes a lot of sense.

Like Jutkawietsz he is not mobile enough as we play mainly on the counter and dont create enough chances.

The majority of 'supporters' on Twitter are, without meaning to generalise and whilst not trying to offend, mostly knuckle dragging *****.

Not in Brighton's squad, going by the article written at the Brighton end they were basically letting him decide whether or not to get cup-tied today.

He's not coming to Forest then, as we wouldn't care if he was cup tied or not.

Stranger things have happened than our reserves beating Chelsea's kids

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Our fans are now expecting us to spend £6m+ on players because of recency bias.

Murray's not a blow your socks off signing, but it's a pragmatic one that improves the squad both on the pitch and off it in the dressing room. It's the sort of transfer that goes under the radar and fans/other clubs don't realise he was what we needed until he's here doing the business.

Apparently Potter doesn't want to let him go, but I think if we made it a transfer with a small fee rather than a 6 month loan then he'd reconsider. Would cost us a bit more but ultimately Murray's likely to be decent enough next year if we don't go up, and if we do go up then a six figure transfer fee becomes irrelevant when we have 8 figure revenue coming in.

Exactly my thinking too, 6 month on loan at Forest only appeals if he really wants to be playing more football and have a last chance at some glory rather than sitting back and taking his last 6 months of Premier League wages (which at 36 who could blame him) but an 18 month deal gives him an extra season guaranteed at a decent level if he isn't ready to give it up yet, plus a signing bonus.
