    Default James Collins - Luton

No links with him & no speculation with him, just a player I'm wondering of we should be considering looking at in Jan?

Fox in the box similar to Grabban, a bit stronger but not as sharp, 28 years old, highest fee he's ever gone for was 200k, would prob cost 1-2m range. Luton sit 16th and I doubt will be in a position to reject decent offers.

Wouldn't be a spectacular signing, but would provide a better genuine alternative to Grabs than Mir does. Think Bonatini & Mir would prob end up having cost us more in wages than he would transfer + wages anyway, so worth a look?

If we are to buy in January then we should be looking at bringing in a player who knows the league and has been playing regularly, so doesn't need time to get up to speed.

For me, the choice is between:
A more experienced player who can provide a different style (let's call this the Murphy replacement aka the Mobile Lump)
A younger goalscorer from League 1 who we think can make the step up but who wouldn't break the bank (so not from Peterborough this time), or has the potential for a decent sell-on if they perform (let's call this the Assombalonga replacement)
An option as above - someone we can poach from the lower half of this league
That promising Cummings lad at Shrewsbury or McKay from Swansea (let's call this option The Fanny)

    More chance of Joan Collins.

Especially if we complete due diligence before the transfer so we don't spend loads of time at the General Hospital.

God that'd be refreshing! We'd have reached a proper Crossroads in our approach.

Decent player, certainly better than Mir and more realistic than some of the names mentioned on here. I doubt Luton (or any Championship club for that matter) would consider £1-2m for one of their better players a decent offer though.

He's way too good to be Championed by Alf. He usually goes for the no hopers, wasters, and over priced lower league strikers who couldnt hit the proverbial cow's backside with a stringed instrument.

If he does start being Championed by Alf expect his goals to dry up soon after. It's a curse.

    What, like Grabban last year?

Or Grosicki & Ivan Toney this year?

Only around 20 odd goals between those 3 after 2 months. "Dry"
