So basically we need to revive "We're gonna pinch your sweets and lollipops" but never " You're going home like Sandy Richardson"?

Just like the Forest trust they don’t represent all homosexuals. I know of many homosexuals who reject all types of LGTB groups. Most homosexuals just get on with there everyday lives. They don’t need people to be offended on there behalf and don’t need anyone to represent them like that.

Yeah and from what Iíve seen the majority of female football fans really donít care about this chant. The woman who posted in here even said most sheís spoke to arenít offended by it. Itís mostly males Who seem to be offended by it. Like those on here.

That's because the vast majority of posters on here are men.

Do you really think if you polled an equal number of men and women that more men would be against it than women?

Many people are easily offended, many arenít.

    Both viewpoints should be respected.

Anyway, hereís a a photograph of Manfred von Richthofen, who is quite famous round these parts:

ĄI believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialismď

Maybe I am. But you shouldn’t care if I am. No one should care about someone getting offended over something so small.....

Well, he wasnít known as ĄThe Red Baronď for nothing!

(I did contemplate chasing my username to ĄThe Red Baronď, when I amended it before, but then Iíd probably get accused of being a closet Nazi again).

    Fake news.

Out of interest, have the Mods ever collected data on sex/race/age/orientation on this forum? There are hardly any tits or fanny on here from whatI've ever read so I'm not sure they'll be a balanced view on this one.

On my part, I've decided to leave the NFFC Supporters Trust. It's a shit, dated song, but really isn't that bad compared to other songs so for one supporter to use the Trust as a sounding board to gain maximum publicity about it was just wrong. I'm done with them.

Was the Red Baron gay? He certainly looks a bit suspect, wouldn't like to be in his barrack room.

OK. That was totally non-PC, but I put it down to a generational problem; I need help.

Do you really have to bring politics into everything you post?

When you are on here a bit longer you will realise that most people here try to keep party politics out of their comments.
Itís a football forum for pityís sake, not the House of Commons.

I don’t bring politics into a football discussion but this is a political issue. Could argue it’s a freedom of speech issue.

Anyway, you’re right though it is getting annoying so I won’t discuss it anymore.

We do not collect any data on Forum MembersĎ gender, ethnic origin or anything else personally identifiable.

I donít even think the Forum Software (the Version we use anyway) has fields for gender or race to be recorded?

Members can - if they wish - enter their date of birth, but this is not mandatory.

It would be interesting to collate such demographics, but Iím not sure what they would show; there are also GDPR concerns of course in us holding such data.

Consecutive posts aren't allowed neither as the MODs are all anti-Brexit commies.....or something.

Asked a female Burton fan about this, apart from not liking the word 'fanny' there isn't much of an issue apparently. Not scientific I know but it just highlights the fact that offense is in the ear of the listener.

I'd be interested to know at what point offense means something needs to change.

Is it a number, percentage or just if a few who have a further reach or higher opinion of themselves?

If one person is offended is that enough to change something?

Is being offended really that bad?

I'm not talking about discrimination here, everyone knows that's wrong and illegal but offense seems to nuanced to pin down.

Who made you the arbiter of what's small?

First you start with didn't happen.

Then you backtrack to, ok it did happen but not nobody was offended.

Then more backtracking to ok it did happen, it did offend people and now it's that in your precious opinion nobody should be offended. Ho hum.
