Default MATCHDAY 7 - Swansea City vs Nottingham Forest

    SWANSEA CITY VS NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Steve Cooper has picked up where Graham Potter left off, continuing the good work and making Swansea a formidable footballing side with some excellent possession based tactics. Forest, whilst looking excellent in patches, have been desperate for the two week international break in order for Sabri Lamouchi (Lamouchi, j'adore) to spend some time with the players and instill more of his tactical style on to our playing staff. It was at this point last year that Forest saw an uptick in results under similar circumstances for Aitor Karanka; will we see that again?

Sorry this is a bit late lads, been busy with work. Also, I said it before and I wholeheartedly mean it again; I don't see my run as matchday thread man continuing beyond this game

Swansea have clearly found a successful formula, current stats would suggest we've got it all on to get anything from the game. That said, the circumstances were similar at Fulham & we prevailed there.

Current strongest first eleven remains subjective, but this cant be far off the mark.

    Samba
    Jenkinson Worrall Dawson Robinson
    Sow Semedo
    Lolley Silva Adomah
    Grabban

Wouldn't bet against us taking a point given our resilience.

Would take a point here. Swansea play nice football and are a good team. Would love to see an away win though, because it’s a bloody long way to drive!

Polishing up my CV right now Alf.

The number we've been through so far, I might be in with a chance.

Here's a classic CWC tie involving Forest's next opponents for Greek contingent.

Think Swansea were fourth division. Might have been the first European game I saw a team from the Football League play in. Hutchinson seeing out his career at the Vetchfield. Highlights on Sportsnight...

    Away Win.

1-2 with Willie Young scoring a backwards header from a corner on debut.

It only takes a second to score a goal.

Those were the days where Nick Owen introduced highlights of Swansea, Dundee United, Glentoran and ridiculous hatricks by Marco Van Basten at AC Milan.

We had no chance at Fulham and we've got no chance here.

2 nil to the Tricksters, Grabban & Uncle Albert

We have nothing to fear from any team. By the time we line up against Barnsley people will be talking about us as contenders for promotion.

Save us a place on the coaching team Keith, I could do with a 3 year payout for 6 months work

Win and give such an amazing football exhibition that by 5.00 Saturday Swansea's fans are petitioning their owners to join the football league in their own country.

Oh joy! Proper football on Saturday again.

And I mean proper football; Forest to teach the Swans a football lesson. Sabri's two week sojourn on the training pitch to yield good results.

Can't see anything but a Swansea win unfortunately. But then I said the same about Fulham!

Agree with the calls for Sow and Adomah to start. Semedo is a rough diamond still and Ameobi is more of an impact sub.

I’d just like see the name Uncle Albert be used ubiquitously. Forum mod time...

Same line up for me but with Bostock in for Semedo and Carvlho in for Silva. That's been my almost ideal starting line-up since Lamouchi put the side together, looking forward to hopefully seeing it.

They've looked strong this season, I think this will be far tougher than Fulham.

2-1 Swans, but then we smash Barnsleh the week after before taking the piss down at Arsenal.

Struggling with this, some really big calls, after what? 6 games!

Semedo & Bostock should probably be judged more for their creativity in posession, Sow more an enforcer type who wins it back all over the pitch to give it fairly simple. To that end Id rather him in the 4 as a matter of course.

Dont really get the paralell, each player brings something different.

It is going to very interesting to see what difference 2 weeks with Sabri and no games will have made to our performance.
And I think performance is, for once, a bit more important than result.
I have Swansea as an outside bet for automatic promotion this season, believing them to be the team most likely to be the surprise package.
So far they are justifying my taking a punt on them.
Given the players have had that 2-weeks with Sabri, I am predicting a draw.
As always, hoping for a win.
And for this match, expecting a really good performance from the Mighty Men in Garibaldi Red.
