I fell in love with football as I was later to fall in love with women,. Suddenly, uncritically giving no thought to the pain it could bring. - Nick Hornby

My dad was in there that day.

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

My old man was there too.

Rumour has it the cause was Otis lighting up a cigarette which ignited with the brylcreem in his hair and set his wooden seat on fire.

And that isn't even the fire in the first part of the video, just the steam coming from Otis' head after finding out via carrier pigeon that Notts had gone one up at Bradford Park Avenue.

    Same here.

Frustrating when Ian Moore had just beaten Sprake but hit the bar. Leeds league leaders.

Played six games (?) at Meadow Lane and didn't win one. Bad news.

I was not there. After a rather hairy day on a sick VC10 we arrived in New York and not one station mentioned it on the news. I had to wait until several days later to find details; no internet in those days, just World Service on short wave.
