    Default Samba Sow

Our mystery midfielder from Dynamo Moscow.

    https://www.sport-express.ru/footbal...orest-1569991/

According to the “SE”, midfielder “Dynamo” Samba Saw is close to the transition to “Nottingham Forest” . At the same time the club of the English champion will pay 700 thousand euros in blue and white. The deal should be announced soon.

The 30-year-old Malian has recently lost his place in Dynamo, and with the arrival of Charles Kabore, his chances to enter the field have almost disappeared. Two years ago, Sow came to the Moscow club as a free agent, his contract with blue and white expired in the summer of 2020.
In “Dynamo” Malian spent 43 matches and gave three assists.

Interestingly - no club has ever paid anything for him. Free transfer 4 times

    Absolutely no idea about him...

People going mad on Twitter though because he "only played 1 game last season" not realising that the 1 game they think he played last season is this season and that the Russian league started just over two weeks ago.

Can't say I know anything about him, he might be brilliant for all I know... But it has to be said I was hoping for us to spend some decent money on some genuine quality in this position so I'll be a bit disappointed if this chap is the only midfield addition we make.

Nixon seems to rate him, reckons he's a giant and will knock players about. Sounds like a protector/ bouncer for Carv and Silva maybe?

You dont get players with good 'discipline' in his position. They all give away fouls.

It only takes a second to score a goal.

Supposedly we nearly signed him a few years ago.

Looks a beast in the air. Nimble on and off the ball too.

Lamouchi clearly needs experience and reliability in the position. He also clearly thinks our squad wasnt big enough after Oly.

At 1:10 he absolutely smashes Guedioura, I'm sure that'll curry him some favour on here...

Are the club that poor we are only signing players with 3 letters in their surname?

    Who's next - Demba Ba?

Also, judging by the quality of these VHS quality videos, he's been playing since the 1980's

90 apps for Lens up till 2013 is a decent amount for a good club, arpund 50 for a top Russian club is also ok.

Other than that not much we can say about him, just need to see how it goes.

That'll be Yacob out the door then, which would be a pity, but doubt he's getting ahead of Watson, Semedo and now Sow in that defensive midfield slot. Clearly, with the latter two, we're wanting real runners in there who'll press and press hard, which if done well can be exceptional. If done badly? Grim.

So this geezer is the big name?!?!?! Hes not a big name at all however he is younger than Watson and a low fee. Lets see what this is like. I cant help but feel this is a bit like last years transfer strategy by just taking punts. I dont mind low risk foreign talent coming in but we have to have proven talent to compensate it.

The biggest issue we have is pace so if he is quicker than Watson then thats a bonus but we are crying out for a pacey LB who is first choice a pacey winger and a pacey striker.

Bit of a downgrade from Renato Sanches.
