Nearly every goal kick found Ameobi's head, which is a vast improvement on the last 2 keepers in keeping possession and not inviting the opposition onto us.

Was class at the goalkeeping foundations too.

    Amazing.
I noticed that as well, yet he still kicked it well into the opposition half!

How could anyone score a goal against someone with shoulders this wide? He fills the net

    Default Brice Samba

He’s so hard, even his own shadow is quaking in fear behind him.

This is a formal request for mods to change the thread name to reflect the correct terminology for referring to this goalkeeper - Magic Hands

Think we'd have beat WBA too had he been in net too

It's those key points against top sides which make all the difference.

And, reassuringly, he's our player. He'll be here next season.

It's really beautiful to read the posts now and recall those when he came and what the f**k so many goalkeepers...

Looks a capable Keeper, certainly good enough for our team in the middle reams of the 2cnd division.

Right, important work to do involving the oesophagus and endless jars of froth topped mulled ale !

I was right behind our goal 2nd half. The saves from the free header and the deflected shot were outstanding. Credit also to Watson for an unbelievable body-on-line type block.

Samba has all the makings of a proper cult hero.

The one that gave more than any other was a Swansea keeper called Willy Gerrit. No joke, and best name ever for a keeper.

I'm sure Muric will still get games, but after a display like that Sat (and Fleetwood for that matter), I think Samba's got to be number 1 for now.

The competition will be good for both keepers. Samba made some great saves at the weekend and a one handed punch that would have sent AJ over The Thames.

I don't think there is much between them. Samba also messed a punch up and a few of his goalkicks aiming for Ameobi's head on the left ended up going straight out of touch. He's a big unit though, and that puts a lot of attackers off.

Nice choice for SL to have.

Genuine competition for the goal keeper jersey is something we have lacked for many many years. Great to have it now.

It only takes a second to score a goal.

if we going to alternate muric and samba - muric at home with less pressure on him and samba away where his experience can help the defence,

I'd argue the opposite, what with the tendancy for ironic cheering from the usual suspects at the CG for any easy take following an error.

Slightly surprised to see Samba play in the cup tonight, does that mean Muric is back in for the league game? Really hope we aren't going to be rotating Gks all season

Didnt really need his Magic Hands tonight, not to save shots anyway!
