I think it was from QPR but still way off what Aberdeen are wanting. They have a Europa League game on Thurs night in Croatia so I think any deal would require to be done by Wed. They are already struggling with 2 centre halves injured. Might have to take Hefele off Forest!

Sounds more like a MoN player to me.

Buy good young talent, sell them on for a big profit a year or two later if you must, and buy two or three more good young talents with the money. Progressively strengthen the squad that way and sooner or later you should be heading up. That’s the game I wish we were in.

When you see Harry Maguire going for £80m in the division above, is it any wonder Aberdeen fancy holding out for a massive fee?

And, to be fair Chris, we as Forest fans can't demand that our board value our better players highly and then bemoan it when the club we're looking to buy from does.

He's just banged in a transfer request at Aberdeen apparently. The lad obviously wants out, go get him mouchmeister!

Offering 2 centre halfs as part of the deal would suit both parties as we're over stocked. I doubt the Dons could afford 2 championship wages though.

Throw Cummings in for free, and a bit more towards his wages?

Absolutely. Sold Webster and Kelly for 33m combined, and used that money to make Kalas and Da Silva’s moves permanent for around a third of that. If they get McKenna for 7m or so, they will have replaced good young players with good young players, gained about 15m profit and still be left with a decent back 4, pretty much of all whom have resale value. Then the cycle continues again.

That, and sticking with the same manager as long as you are progressing, will probably see them be another team to beat us to the PL.

Meanwhile, in Nottingham, we continue to stockpile all manner of different players and change the manager more often than we change our bedsheets.

Always good to have a player in your squad who has publicly stated that he wants to leave.

TBH, rejecting the transfer request doesn't really change the situation. Everyone knows he wants out which plays into the hands of the buying club. Not sure he'll end up here, but he won't be an Aberdeen player beyond this week IMO.

The only way Aberdeen will sell him is if they get what they are looking for which is around 7m I believe. As an Aberdeen fan I don’t want him to go but if he does I hope it’s to Forest. I think Aberdeen would happily take a couple of Forest players but as mentioned above the wages would be an issue.

Be surprised if we went back in for him with Chema supposedly on his way. Unless we have clubs waiting in the wings who are willing to take some of our other centre backs...

I would think any move to bring McKenna here would mean Worrall going out, I think he's likely to be the only CB we'd get a substantial fee for.

We could end up with about 87 goalkeepers by the end of the week so what harm is another defender?
