    Default Jordan Rhodes

Couldn't find a thread, so thought I'd start one.

The post are saying that Jordan Rhodes is surplus to requirements. With QPR being offered the forward.

Surely it would be worth a go with him, he'd thrive with the chances we could create and provide great competition for Grabban.

14 goals in 87 league appearances over the last 3 years. No thanks.

No thanks, gives you nothing anywhere but in the box. I don't think that kind of striker will fit with how we want to play.

I imagine his wages are stupid also.

If the price is right, I wouldn't mind Rhodes. Works best in a system with wingers pinging crosses into the box which seems to be the way we are going. Not the way Wednesday played though.

9 goals last season from 1017min. A goal ever 113min

For reason's Dan states it wouldn't be an ideal signing, but I would rather have that as an option on the bench than what we currently have.

Rather have someone with a bit of pace to get in behind,we seem to give opposition defences too much of an easy time.

3 of those goals came courtesy of a hat trick against Wycombe in the League Cup to be fair.

6 goals in 36 league games last season. Not great really. We might as well just keep Murphy for another year instead of signing players like this.

Seen him a few times, pops up with the odd goal, but never seems to break sweat.

Think Lamouchi will get some delivery going, also think he'll get us high enough to create more chances, but still feels like its a few years too late with Rhodes. The legwork involved in defending from the front aint something Rhodes seems to thrive on.

We wont get value for the money.

Yeah that's a good point. If we are going to press from the front, we need someone with the legs and brain to do it.

We need more than just a fox in the box. As has been said, an Oliviera type player would be ideal.

Grabban's movement and link up play is generally underrated but he's looked lost in the friendlies. Hope he's just saving himself and it's not the system.

This would just scream mid table again. It's an area we need to go big on, no fucking about. Same goes for DM.

Absolutely key areas and they will make the difference between a mediocre season again and potentially top 6.

No different to Grabban and Walker is currently backup for Grabban unless Walker leaves. Waste of time and money with no long term gain if we don’t go up, we need to move away from these sorts of signings.

    Exactly.

He’s doing a grand tour of the Championship and flopping at every club.

At this point I think I'd rather have that Wigan striker everyone was singing about at one point.

Freed from desire, mind and senses purified. What a tune.

Will Grigg, now at Sunderland (signed for a mind boggling £4m!). From what I've read about him from Sunderland fans, many of them would happily drive him here too.

Jesus, I had a complete blank to what his name was. Guess he's the League 1 version of Rhodes

Pretty much, scored goals in League One for a while (but never did well in the Championship, making Sunderland's decision to spend £4m on him rather baffling) but has been supposedly terrible this last season. Wigan must have been laughing all the way to the bank with that one.

No thanks, is on big wages, nearly 30 and apart from scoring goals, he offers nothing else

Can't fault the irony in that statement.

Though he doesn't do the goal scoring bit anymore, unfortunately.

Anyone who's seen us play pre-season should've figured out we're putting in plenty of crosses and still we usually find nobody in the box! A goal poacher is what we need for crosses.

Exactly why we shouldn't sign Jordan Rhodes, he doesn't score goals anymore.
