I dunno, Carva costs us 2.5m/year + wages. That can't be far off a similar total. 70kish/wk maybe.

    £100k x 52 weeks = £5.2million

so yeah, a similar total £2.5million

just the other way around 5.2 | 2.5

    2.5m/52 = 48k/wk + wages (say 22k/wk for rounding sakes) = 70k/wk

    Not too massive a difference.

Hull City paid 10 million for him and he was sensational when fit, had to play most matches as lone striker but he's not a hold up player he's a prolific striker and given the service would score plenty of goals for Forest. Doubt he was holding out for anything like what's being said, most Hull were paying was around 50k and that was in the prem. Villa actually offered 25 million for him but Hull turned it down. They let his contract run out when they were relegated, typical of their crazy owners.

Nope, just a rough guess. I think it's a fair estimate.

I certainly don't think the club would be put off going for Hernz if they really wanted him with that in mind. Probably get him at 50-70k/wk

There were plenty of news stories at the time of Carvalho's transfer that said the move was only possible due to Carvalho's low wage by Championship standards. Nowhere near £22k per week then.

Like I said, it was a rough figure to round up for comparison.

The average Champ wage is 25k/wk. If he's on a "low" wage call it 12k/wk, under half average. That's still us paying 60k/wk for him, and still shows we'd be in the market for this chap if we thought it appealing enough IMO

    £25k a week, that’s £1.3m a year.

For playing football. In the Second Division.

    No wonder the game‘s fucked.

Where are you getting £25k per week from? Every source I'm looking at puts the average Championship wage at around a quarter of that figure.

Should Championship Football Players Earn So Much?

The debate on footballer wages will never end. When it comes to the highest-paid earners at clubs such as Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, salaries are sky high compared to some of their Championship rivals. When players are earning close to £80,000 per week, it makes you think...

The average YEARLY Championship wage back in 2006 was around £150,000. That works out at around £3,000 per week - still an extraordinary salary compared to your average Joe in the United Kingdom.

12 years on and the average wage has rocketed; players are averaging closer to £25,000 per week.

I think there was a chart to back it up which named our wage bill as one of the highest in the Champ?

Wouldn't believe much of that article, it reads more like tabloid shite than anything factual. https://www.888sport.com/blog/footba...ayers-get-paid

Forest's wage bill was one of only a few that decreased the season before.

So you reckon Carva's on less than 12k/wk?

In all likelihood, yes, and who can prove otherwise?

Not that it matters anyway because a striker with a bad injury record that just got sacked by a Russian team isn't going to be signing a contract worth anything like £60,000 per week unless he goes to China. If Hernandez joins a Championship team then it will likely be on a much lower weekly wage.
