Record reporting that it'll be permanent but Benfica keep 50% of his rights which basically means they get half the profit of any future sell on, they must rate him to want to add that clause in.

Also saying him and Semedo are over for their medical today and could all be complete this evening.

Benfica getting a 50% sell-on clause for him.

We probably paying a small amount if anything for him. Mendes is juggling the players around from the clubs he runs to hopefully get the best for individuals and clubs.

Just a small correction mate, that article says they’ve been in England since yesterday, when they did medical tests, and should be finalised today.

So I don’t think we’ll have to wait for this evening to hear news.

Agree with the comments about levels, just look at Daniel Pinillos.

He had spent most of his career in the Spanish second division and until his injury he was a good player for us. Fair play to him because he has now carved out a decent career for himself at Barnsley.

Just from watching his video. He doesn't look like a full-back who will be bursting past you with power and speed. More of a be involved in team movement and link player. There really isn't many left-back options around unless our scouting has found a gem. Nearly 20 caps for Portugal u21s there is clearly something to work with and we not having to put down a lot of money to 'own him' and settle in with his good mate Joao Carvalho and say he is a Nottingham Forest FC player.

It may take him half a season or so to find his feet but like I said that isn't a huge issue this time because we have Robbo who, for me, is a very good LB anyway.

So with Silva and Semedo that makes 3 new signings, all Portuguese.
After the rip roaring success last season when we brought in 3 Portuguese who set the Championship on fire I am so happy we have repeated the experiment!

Yuri takes his rightful place in the Forum pantheon.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Hopefully he's a decent defender, got some pace, gets up & down & delivers a decent ball in.

Standard left back stuff these days. Tell me he does all that.

Competition for places is always good - especially if any of the new lads take a little time settling in.

True, cos signing British players has been such roaring success for the last twenty years

Not so worried about this one as at least we have Robinson to challenge him, hopefully he's better and he will get time to settle and won't necessarily be thrown in at the deep end like Carvalho Dias and Gonclaves were.
