If anyone wants a laugh, read over the first few pages of this thread to see the reaction when SL was appointed. He's making many eat their words so far.

The whole episode wasn't handled particularly well, but the results so far speak for themselves.

I suppose we may have to grudgingly accept that those running NFFC have a better idea about things than the fans.

In fairness, a lot of the reaction was due to the abrupt dismissal of the previous Manager, days after his Assistant has walked, and on the eve of preparations for the new season, and it looked for all the World like yet another chaotic last-Minute Forest knee-jerk reaction that has been seen so many - unsuccessful - times before?

From Memory, I think the question I asked was SabriĎs lack of Knowledge of the Championship?

Well, he has answered that in frankly emphatic fashion, and if thereís humble pie to be had, put me down for two slices and extra gravy.

    Ainít hindsight wonderful!

I think the general consensus was

"F**k me we've sacked MON and appointed the new guy within twenty minutes, and who the hell is he I've never heard of him?!?!?!"

The difference of opinion seemed to be "stick with MON it'll come good" type responses which were ignoring the fact that Forest had no shape, no intention for six months under O'Neill against the "roll the dice, it can't hurt" types who had no idea what Lamouchi was like but figured stalling in mid-table until O'Neill was moved on wasn't progress.

So far the former group are smashing the cash out button for whatever is left.

Kudos to the one or two who were vocal backers of Lamouchi from the start.

I think my general opinion on all appointments are the same. Back then until there gone.

Is it true that SL is only working with a first team squad of 23 with all other squad members not in the 23 doing other things and not “infecting” the 23 with any negative thoughts etc. We really do seem to have a cohesive and hard working first team squad but what are the others doing - working down their contracts or will they step in if any injuries to main 23?

The best managers are the ones that improve players individually and as part of the team. Bielsa is a great example - every player in that Leeds team has increased significantly in value since Bielsa joined.

And it doesn't take a Sherlock Holmes to deduce that those negotiations were concluded several weeks ago, giving time for the new Head Coach to appoint his full backroom team of 6.
And I wouldn't be surprised if over the next 7 days we are treated to a whole host of new signings, some of which will be decent names.
So, as Sherlock would probably now deduce, I think the coming season could be the season we make it back to the Premiership!
This was my take on things at 2:35 on the day He came!
I still believe he was really recruited weeks before (see my post on the Don't sack Lamouchi thread...)and I'm glad to say that so far SL has been a breath of garlic-scented fresh air.
Wonder if he brings cheese and red wine to the training ground?

Itís better to be doubted and prove people wrong. Thereís no fun in everyone believing in you. Itís a safe bet on both sides and a determined character will always find the inspiration in being doubted and turn it into a ĎIíll show youí scenario.

Fair play to him so far, itís exactly what he seems to have done.

What I like the most so far is that he rarely changes his defensive partnerships or spine of the team. He seems to have a dilemma on the left back spot but other than that you know what defensive line and goalkeeper he is picking each time. Breeds confidence in familiarity.

I think Yuri has solved that dilemma for him now.

This guy seems to have rejuvenated players that seemed to be a bit half arsed before he joined. Thinking of Grabban and Watson in particular.

If anything, it's just nice to see Forest battling to the very end in games. Hate going away from games thinking we could have tried harder.

Spot on. This team seem a very tight unit that will pull together when backs are to the wall. That 8 minutes injury time at Fulham was immense.

Today was the first time he perhaps got the substitutions wrong although the result would perhaps disagree with that statement.

I could see what he was trying to do by bringing on some strength and and a bit more experience but taking all of our forward thinking and creative players off just invited Barnsley onto us and the pressure was relentless.

However it could be argued it worked as we got the result but in my opinion it made it harder work than it needed to be. Still his hit rate with influential subs is superb so far.

First time we've looked worse in the second half rather than coming out strong. Semedo coming on was a strange one as he's one player I wouldn't put on when we're defending a 1-0 lead and need to be organised.

He did piss me off when he tried to go on the attack, lost the ball and then began to sulk whilst Barnsley went on the attack. Reckon he'll get a bollocking for that off Lamouchi.

Asked by A block for a wave & again he declines. He's all about business, I fucking love the guy for that.

Then theres the fact he's got us working twice as hard, twice as disciplined & players like Watson, Worrall & Cash looking like different players.

    Top stuff from the manager.

Probably more to do that he doesn’t have an idea what they are saying.

He gave them a fairly animated response after the final whistle when they just chanted his name, rather than asking him to wave to them.

As you imply Chris, someone like John Inman would be the most suitable choice of manager for that lot in A-block.

Sabri gave him a heavy shove back onto the pitch quite rightly, which he didn’t look too happy about

He did acknowledge with a clap behind his back.

Probably couldnt hear them from where he was sat. In the A blocks defence he is quite far away and we keep being told the sound dont travel.
