I had pro sets... as they were cards the pile of swopsies was massive. We used to hastle the postwoman for laggy bands to keep them in a pile.

I remember the lower league teams had a few players each, I must have had 20 Dion Dublin's in his cambridge days.

I imagine that a set of those league ladders, an Evening Post/Rothman's book of the seasons fixtures and a set of Wembley game dice and you were happy as Larry, faking seasons to your hearts content.

My first sticker album had Barry Butlin in it. I remember thinking, "Who?"

If I ever become ceo of Butlins that would be the name of their mascot.

Them were the days, doing my paper round only to give the bloke the whole £14 back buying stickers.

Got a whole set of those ProSet cards and possibly a Jason Lee POG and a few of those models with the big heads as well... Cloughie, Crossley, Gemmill and Campbell.

I was collecting A&BC (orange backs) footie cards before you lot were even born. Peter Hindley was my first Forest Card.

    £14?!

I got £7.50 for the biggest round in the village. Had to split it into two rounds on a Saturday, as it was all broadsheets and wouldn't fit in one bag. And there was no pay rise in three years.

Three weeks of Telegraphs was a Forest away game and coach ticket.

When the papers were really late arriving, shopkeeper let us read magazines from the top shelf. He must have known they would never make it back on display.

I used to collect the Topps cards with the stick of gum inside. Think the first year was 77-78.
Only recently discovered that they used to superimpose players heads on shoulders if they didn't have a picture of them.
Archie Gemmill is a good example.
Can never upload pictures on here but basically if you Google Archie Gemmill TOPPS you'll see his head superimposed on the Forest shirt and the Scotland shirt (for the TOPPS Scotland All Stars).

First few times I saw Forest play Leeds, when I heard them sing their "marching on together" song I thought I they were singing "Archie, Archie Gemmill".

The Chad round was the worse in our area, it was a free paper so had to be delivered to every house, they were heavy as well. We used to use a shopping trolley from kwik-save to transport them.
I didn't last long on that, it was an evil round in winter.

My brother delivered free papers. Think he delivered half of them to skips and down drainpipes

The Evening Post was the soft round after school, it was difficult to get on that.

    The manager was legend.

Campbell was pretty awful for Forest in the PL. He had injury problems in his first season at Forest, I think. But he had two years.

When he started scoring in the promotion season it was a bit of a surprise initially. He had started the season behind Saunders.

In the relegation season, Roy was also well past his one brilliant season at Forest and could barely hold down a place in the team. He contribute two goals in one game against Spurs, and a third after relegation was confirmed. Saunders was past his best when Forest signed him.

After that opening day win we got 10 goals from our forwards the rest of the season - Campbell, Saunders, Roy, Lee + van Hooijdonk signed in April and Clough on loan at Xmas.

Also Stone, who scored seven the previous season suffered a serious injury that kept him out most of the season. Woan only got one in the league

Pearce got 4 all from set pieces but wasn't bombing down the left flank to contribute in attack by this stage, and was stood in the dugout by the end.

Forest's main source of goals was Haaland with six.

Can confirm, used to deliver the Evening Post, and it was the plum round.

You could be right Red Till. Think they took over from the 'Experience Football' scratch & sniff cards.

'Peter Shilton's hairspray' and 'Robbo's halftime fag' were one thing. After I got 'Archie Gemmill's post match jock strap' I stopped buying.

And no, I've know idea what I'm on about either.
