What has happened here before wasn't there doing so whilst it is difficult to deal with facing Derby fans now we got to just bite the bullet for a little longer (hopefully).

It is unbelievable how much we have missed out on.
What do you think to Mason Mount? He looks quite a prospect Bryan. It’s no surprise that Derby slipped down the table when he was injured and are now on a roll since he returned. Hard to see him getting in the Chelsea side next season, but I can see him being an England regular if he continues to progress.

It only takes a second to score a goal.

Rate him extremely highly mate. Said so at the time when they got him.

Think him and Foden are like Sancho's of their position in England coming through.

Whilst he doesn't necassarily look involved all game when he gets the ball he makes things happen for goals.

Whether Derby get promoted or not he should be playing Prem football next season.

It is similar to when Villa got Grealish back they went on their run.

Problem is though, Mount (and also Foden as you mention) will barely get a look in at their current clubs.

That was the driver for Jadon Sancho to pack up his kitbag last summer and take his act to Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, where frankly he has flourished (regular readers of the „La Liga, Serie A and other World Football“ thread will be aware I’ve been raving about him all season).

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Just ask him how they got on in all of them.

That was my first question. When you regularly see as many Derby fans as I do you quickly become skilled in the art of ‘bantz’.

My youngest nephew genuinely thinks I’m kidding when I say Forest are as big a club as Derby. To him we are a lower end club who never challenge for promotion.

Yes, like Grealish he looks too good for the Championship. Mount is a proper play maker.

I’ve been impressed with Tomori too. Another one who should be playing at the top level next season.

Not sure if Lampard is a good manager, but he looks a good manager for a big game.

Making an instant impression was probably Flampard's motivation. Getting noticed so he can make his way to Chelsea . He wasn't going to make the Sky Sports News ticker winning away at Rotherham and Millwall. He did by winning at Old Trafford, Southampton on TV and almost getting a result at Stamford Bridge.

He's played enough big games, and perhaps that's what brings out the best in him.The Forest game was not really a big game for a Londoner, it was a bigger game for O'Neill. Last night was another impressive win when it mattered against a manager who had had his number for three games this season.

The country will be watching the play off final. Villa are better, they've tonked Derby twice too. But I wouldn't be surprised if FLDC wins it now.

These days being comfortable with the 24 hour social media scrutiny is as important as anything else for a manager. Lampard will be a good manager I think. He has demonstrated a few times that he not only gets the best out of his players but is able to respond tactically. He is also the kind of big name who can take the media limelight and deflect the spot light from his players.

Again, we mocked them for hiring Lampard but he's a gamble that's looked to have paid off

Maybe. If they lose the final he’s only slightly better than Billy Davies.

Whether he goes up or not with Derby won't determine whether he's remembered as a decent manager. It'll be how he does at Chelsea. This part is just the trying to do well enough to get the job in the first place.

Di Matteo won promotion with West Brom. Even won the CL randomly as caretaker. But I don't think he's remembered as a good manager. Seems to be on the scrap heap now.

When he moves on, will it be 'Derby County - formerly of Frank Lampard'?

Let’s be honest, Fawaz could have had one manager during his entire reign here and it wouldn’t have worked. The way he ran the club was unsustainable in every department.

Had he kept SOD backed him in the transfer window he could very easily of got us promoted via the playoffs.

Derby have had a similar number of managers to us over the past five years (8 v 7) yet they’ve reached the play offs 3 times including 2 finals. They also narrowly missed out once. Their current manager has been there for one season and the other play off finalists have a manager who joined mid season.

There’s a lot more to it than length of manager tenure.

Also, much more expectation and pressure at Villa than Derby. Lampard could have had finished midtable and it wouldn’t have been a bad season really.

They not only came back from losing the first game, they were also 2-0 down in the tie. It was yet another stunning turn around in a month of come backs. Of course they were going to celebrate, and of course Lampard was going to bounce with the fans.

If it was me I’d be absolutely buzzing. When was the last time we reached a final at Wembley?

By the time the final comes along both managers and their players will be doing what they do. On paper Villa should win but Derby are on a roll.
I know in my heart of hearts you are both right. But let me clutch, clutch at anything

Seriously though that bounce he does is the cringiest thing I’ve seen since the ram masks.

The thing I like about Frank Lampard, of Frank Lampard‘s Derby County, is absolutely nothing at all, because he’s a fat ****.

    Hope that clears that up.

Couldn’t beat Forest though could they & if it hadn’t been Fwankies influence over the ref at Pride Road then we would’ve done the double over them

I think once you accept that as a Forest fan the closest we will get to a big day out is an occasional victory over Brentford once in a blue moon with a good singalong on the terrace, an away day hammering at a Premier League club while watching 2 reserve teams slug it out or a final day avoiding relegation game then you are a lot happier

I wish they’d done the double over us if that would mean we could swap places with them and be in next week’s play off final.

The wheels really fell off for Leeds in the last few months.

I know Bielsa took a squad which finished 13th last season to the play offs, but has he done a good enough job to justify his £4m a year salary?
