His shot deflects off a teammate and into the net. Three minutes into the season, first assist of the season.

    Sign him up ffs

Just seen Mr Fossil's post and thought I'd bump this.

Out of contract in June 2020 so we could potentially get him at a sale-rate in Jan. 4 goals so far this season

Is he better than Adomah? Otherwise we're stockpiling players in their twighlight again. Plus we need to think bigger if w're going up.

I agree. If we're in the top six in January then adding some serious quality is what is needed, rather than more squad players.

Good point. Depends on budget I guess. If we could nab him for 1-2m would it be worth paying that to get us over the line?

I'm thinking of having 3 main wide options in Lolley, Adomah & Grosicki, with Lolley then free to play in the centre if needed, and Ameobi there as a wildcard backup.

The last part of your post is spot on.
If we are in contention in January any players we bring in ought to be brought in with the Premiership in mind.

If we're in contention in January we'll have access to high calibre premier league loans that haven't been available to us in the past. Hardly any risk, players will want to play in a promotion chase and clubs will want that experience for their players. That's where I'd focus my efforts on in January!

Iíd take Grosicki at a cut-price fee in January - no question.

Ameobi is out of contract next summer, so replace him with a better winger in the summer. Unless we go up, then you replace Adomah and Ameobi with 2 top wingers.

Incremental gains is the way forward unless we get promoted. Better players make your first-teamers squad players and your squad players move on.

    Grosicki is a great player.

Just going from highlights and his number of goals and assists, heís much better than Albert in terms of an attacking threat.

I havenít watched Hull live and some pundit or other made a comment along the lines of the other 9 players wonít mind doing the extra work when Grosicki and Bowen score so many. So maybe those 2 donít do much tracking back and donkey work?

I heard it said on either Sky or the EFL Show on Quest this week that he had told a Polish newspaper that he was ready to sign a new deal with Hull.

Yeah I heard that locally. I don’t reckon he will. I think he’ll sign a big pre contract with some foreign team in January

Depends how big it is, don't it. We only have so much budget and I feel a striker should be where we spend most our cash, if we're in the hunt for top 6

I'd hope after spending very, very little this window and selling 11m worth of players we have enough for both.

I rek Grosicki would be 1-2m with his contract expiring, leaving a decent amount for a striker.

I would have liked to have seen us go for Ivan Toney in the Summer, but we didn't and his value will have only increased scoring 8 goals in 10 since.

If we can spend that on a biscuit right back that isnít as good as our current one even when fit, then we must have it for a winger that we do need and have plenty for a striker. Else someone deserves a shoeing.

Think a loan signing is more likely than spending huge money on a striker, deals like that don't tend to happen in January.

Our spend in January will be quite modest again, I'd be shocked if we spent more than £3m.

Much as I find him a pain in the neck, we need a striker like Vardy, quick, pesters the defence and knows where the goal is.

Grabban is one type of striker, we need a contrast to him.

It's those types of decisions which are key and will make all the difference.

2m on an often-injured Jenks or Winger who's scored 13 goals since the start of last season?

    No-brainer for me.
