In my family a penny in and a penny on at Newmarket, or 10p a rubber at Crib is considered giving it large.
One Christmas there was £1.30 on the King of Clubs when we were playing them off, and the odd double kitty with a bit of snow was always exciting!

It's another one of those bizare games where they look certs to smash us, but we'll likely grab a 0-0 or something.

All we can pray for is for their nerves to get the better of them, we want to finish high as possible to push on next season with hopefully 10 or 12 new players to go and win the league by Feb 2020.

The mediocre team from Sheffield brushed us aside with a 3-0 thrashing. The good team in Sheffield will inflict further misery. Blackburn could have scored 4 against on Saturday - this lot will.

Another bizarre team selection, another disjointed performance, another footballing lesson dished out.

Martin O'Neill's Nottingham Forest thoroughly beaten. Blades 4 Forest 0

We're not mathematically out of it yet and should be looking to get something out of the game, even just some integrity, the other teams wouldn't be too happy if MON decides to try something new again as if the season is already concluded.

Add to that, I used to live within spitting distance of Bramhall Lane, most of my Sheffield mates are Blunts, requiring us to have some fortitude and give them a metaphorical bloody nose.

We’ve been losing playing the ultra defensive hoofball, so trying something different isn’t necessarily treating the fixture with a lack of respect. A change is what’s needed.

To be fair it would certainly be a kick in the bollocks for them, given they have a genuinely good chance of making that top 2.

We should go all out for the win for that reason alone.

Can't muster any hope here and in this zombie stage of the season struggling even to muster enough interest to be upset when we lose.

Quick question for any American reds, is this game on tv in the states?

Can only just be bothered to even watch this on TV. The most nailed on defeat for us imaginable, but Championship football is so bonkers wr might win.wonder if the owner will use thesr remaining games as a judge for how much to back MON in the summer

Nottingham Forest should've kept Sheffield United trio Kieran Dowell, David McGoldrick and Billy Sharp

Can only see us getting hammered, probably around 4-0. I'd mix things up a bit and have a look at some fringe/youth players.

Will Friday be a Good Friday?

A bad defeat and its obvious there will be plenty ready to crucify Martin even before the final whistle.

As the SUFC fans crow as each goal goes in, Roy Keane will be heard saying “Martin who?” to the 4th official.

Carvalho, disgruntled at not being his favourite, pops off down the touch line to stitch him up with the away fans. “I should be the saviour! Persecute the non-believer! Car-val-e-oh!”

Nailing Martin up, “Forgive him Father, he knows not what he does!” they’ll cry as the cross is hoisted vertical.

Then, play-offs no longer mathematically possible, in his after-match interview from the cross, will Martin use the words “It is finished”?

Now believing him to be finally done for, imagine the gasps on Monday at the City Ground as he then appears miraculously on the touch line in the No. 7 shirt, kneeing RK in the balls, kissing Carvalho on the forehead as he whispers “I’m selling you to Hull” before donning his boots and sticking three past the Boro like he’s been reborn.

“Who took him down from the cross?” they’ll ask. “Was it EM himself? Has he risen to be our new Messiah? If EM believes, shouldn’t we??”

On the other hand, maybe we’ll just beat SUFC 1-0 and bypass all the dramatics. Stranger things have happened, or so it is written.

I'm at work on Friday so won't be watching or listening. Which will therefore invalidate any opinion I have afterwards

The only outlet I know of is ESPN+ which is a pay stream service. It's $5 per month but you can sign up for a free trial. Sorry in advance mods if this is offside. I just posted it because it is a legit pay service.

I'm not actually American, as I'm sure you can guess, but I'd be surprised if the NY Trickies aren't tuning in at some ungodly hour for watching football in the Smithfield Hall in Manhattan.
