Had an away day and night booked with some blunt mates way back when this fixture looked to mean something. Sitting in blunt end which could well be Hell on earth given recent performances. How nice will my post match drinks be if we finally condemn them to the lottery of the playoffs? Please Forest show some back bone and sort out how you are going to play football - no more hoofball

We’ve been unlucky with defensive injuries and with the loan wingers not working out, but the players are there by and large to be better than mid table
Strongly disagree, I think this is the poorest amount of quality at the club for many a year, Rovrums 2cnd goal summed us up.

The Reds make the quick trip up the M1 this Good Friday to take on high-flying Sheffield United, but a third defeat in a row for Forest sees them far adrift of the playoff places in eleventh place with very little to play for in their remaining games.

The Blades on the other hand are very much in the mix for automatic promotion sitting three points off second place Leeds and will be looking for a first home win in three games to keep their promotion push alive.

Can Forest nick something away from home to arrest their losing streak and begin a positive end to the season? Or will Sheffield be too strong for them?

    Form

    Playing Styles

    Played for Both

Billy Sharp: Forest 2012-13 (Loan) / Sheffield Utd 2015-Present
David McGoldrick: Forest 2009-13 / Sheffield Utd 2018-Present
Kieran Dowell: Forest 2017-28 (Loan) / Sheffield Utd 2019-Present (Loan)
Jamie Ward: Sheffield Utd 2009-11 / Forest 2015-Present

    Did You Know?

    • The Blades very nearly signed Argentinian legend Diego Maradona in 1978, the club agreeing a £200,000 fee with Argentinos Juniors to sign the then seventeen-year-old. But when the Juniors demanded more money for the player the United board would not sanction it, opting to sign fellow countryman Alex Sabella instead.

    • Brian Deane scored the first ever Premier League goal with a header at home against Manchester United at Bramall Lane on 15th August 1992.

    • Bramall Lane is the oldest stadium in the Football League still to be hosting matches. The ground was initially used to host cricket, before it was adapted later in the century to become the home of Sheffield United upon their formation in 1889 and has been in constant use ever since, hosting the very first floodlit game along the way in 1878.

The only thing I can think they were going for was the "six of diamonds" look. Fail.

I vote you start every match day thread Harvey. Excellent work.

It's on TV, big decision. Do I ruin my Friday night and watch?

MON needs a win, pretending to sort out the squad for next season just isn't going to blind us to the present shortcomings in the setup at the CG.

Contrary to popular opinion, I met several very nice people at Bramall Lane and was lucky to get into the ground; something I only achieved because the fire alarm went off!

Yeah, this game is only going to go one way I'm afraid.

Routine 3-0 home win for Sheffield United.

Bizarrely they haven't had much joy playing us in recent years despite looking the better side on most occasions.
So I reckon this will be their day.

Your Friday night would be ruined anyway, when you tune in & find out the game kicked off at 12.30pm.

Pointless match with no real pressure? That's normally the sort of match we win.

It's when a game actually means something that we routinely fall to pieces.

Goalkeeper has been better in the last 5 years
Best set of defenders that we’ve had in the last 5 years
Best group of midfielders we’ve had in the last 5 years
We used to have Antonio but apart from that had no mother decent attacking midfield players
And grabban and assombalonga not too much to choose from

So at worst it’s a bit better than what we’ve had recently.

It’s been good enough to beat most of the top teams this year

It's funny how the squad always gets better/worse depending on whether you dislike/like the manager.

You should see the contrast between what Burns and Birtles were writing in their columns before MON came in and what they're saying now, it's laughable.

As a non-betting man, would you explain how 8/13 works to me please?
Does it mean if I put £13 on for the Blades to win, I'll only get £8 back?
If so, why would anyone bet on that option?
So something, call it common sense, tells me I might not be understanding.

Yep. Spot on Cap. You get your stake back too tho, so £13 wins you £8, so a total payout of £21 (with it making £8 profit).

Aaah - I hadn't twigged you got your stake back.
I think at 8 to 13 it might be worth a tenner...

Get out of 1st gear? Utd won't even need to pull out of the driveway to win this one.

Looking forward to seeing who wins the next left back lottery. My money's on Janko.

Struggling to see why we're now helping Byram get back in good shape when he's likely not at Forest next season.

Rather see Richardson get some exposure.

Had a gander on their forum, some aren't confident after the Millwall result and they've got some key players out.
Others think we are already on the beach.

Little do they know if anyone can get their automatic push back on track, it's us
