19 players I counted. As Ravi says give or take a player, but either way it's a big job on for MON.
I'm sick of these big squads where players are much of a muchness in comparison, but have the ability to hide with so many ranks.

The limited success we have had in the last 20 years has been under Hart, Billy and SOD. All had a team where the fans could usually guess the team before kick off.

Quality over quantity please, but the outgoings will be a tough job to shift this season due to the amount.

Ward and Henderson are out of contract, and Goncalves, Janko, Wague, Byram, Pele and Bonatini will all return to their parent clubs that's 8 off the books straight away.

Bridcutt, Watson, Murphy, Tachtsidis, Vellios, Cummings and Ariyibi all only have a year left so we should be able to shift them, even if only on loan.

Hefele and Clough we are stuck with unfortunately, as they still have another couple of years left and no one is going to want to take them off our hands.

I'd like us to try and get Colback here again, and I think the others who have a year left (Benalouane, Milosevic, Robinson, Yacob, Ansarifard, Steele and Guedioura) are all worth keeping (and in the case of Milosevic and Robinson, tying to new deals).

I predict a few more of those ripped up contracts coming over the summer. Pretty much everybody over 30 can go for me.

    Definitely keep/re-sign:
    Milosevic
    Lolley
    Carvalho
    Figeurido
    Robinson
    Grabban
    Ansarifard
    Yacob
    Colback

Edit: would say Byram too if he wasn't so biscuity.

There's a good 8-10 i'd like to see moved on, starting with the manager.

They will stay and train/play games with the 23s and 1 by 1 they will drop off.

As we said last summer. You surely got to feel wanted. Think Vellios/Clough went last.

So with the loanees going back, Tachtsidis sold and Ward and Henderson leaving I guess that leaves the following:

1 year left: Vellios, Murphy, Watson, Bridcutt(?), Ariyibi, Cummings, Grant

More than 1 year left: Hefele, Clough

I think we shouldn't have much of a problem shifting the ones with only a year left on their contracts, we might even get a fee for Bridcutt and Grant.

Hefele and Clough will be hard to shift permanently, so will probably just get loaned out each season until their contracts are nearly up.

I'm surprised anyone think Dawson will be up to much next season. Happy to be surprised, but I wouldn't plan on it.

We are well stocked for central defenders, hopefully we can keep them all. I'd be happy to see Hef stay as back up - he's got a strong personality.

Even taking Dawson out of the equation, we have Benalouane, Milosevic, Figueiredo, Worrall and Robinson who can all play there.

Though he seems like a nice bloke, Hefele is absolutely dreadful and surplus to requirements. I'd get rid without hesitation if any offers come in.

You actually think someone would sign OAP Murphy? You are crazy!

Murphy could do a job in League One to be fair. Could easily see someone like Sunderland or Ipswich taking him on.

Agree, Heff out. I also think injury has done for Dawson, in a Forest shirt anyway.

Even with three at the back that should be enough.

Dawson playing made a noticeable difference this season, and we missed that influence when he got injured.

I imagine he’s happy here playing or not, at his stage why move again? At his home town club and clearly a role model...I expect he’s the sort to be an asset behind the scenes before too long. And if we need cover and he’s fit he ain’t too shabby. Great footballing brain on him.

Cohen to manage with Dawson as his assistant. I have no grounds to base this on but he’ll be the next Eddie Howe.

Dawson was imposing every time he played. We also ran out of central defenders midway through the season.

    What in, his Golf Handicap?

Shame really, the Billy/Pearce-era Lansbury would be perfect next to Colback in the team that finished the season.
