Weirdest accent I ever came across is on the Sheffield/Chesterfield border. My old boss had it & he spoke like Raymondo.

Not a fucking clue what he was on about half the time.

I used to go out with a girl from Dronfield way and I sometimes had to ask her to repeat what she had said slowly so I could work it out. Safe to say, it fizzled out pretty quickly.

the force is strong in this one: "It has been fantastic so far but what you can and must do next will be amazing for the rest of your lives."

Wasn't Dronfield where Joe Cocker came from?

It deduced that I'm from Nottingham.

    Or the Isle of Wight.

I did this and came up bang on Rutlish.

I also did an ancestry DNA test and it threw something up that I can't say to my dad. It should have thrown up some German, but I am 98.7% English and the rest is Welsh. The German should have been about 4 generations ago and kind of confirms the rumours of my paternal grandfather not being who we thought it was.

Truth is I am more southern than anything else, which would explain my fondness for Heineken.

    More like.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Did you give 5 minute's thought as to how they come up with their results (and how they use your data) ?

If you're throwing your money away then I'm off to the pub tonight ...

It decided that I'm from somewhere in an area bordered by Manchester, Stoke, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Chesterfield (I think).

Doesn't touch Wales, but as my Mum was from Hucknall and I've now spent approx 5/11 of my life in the East Midlands, I'm not surprised that it put me in the middle, slightly leaning this way.

I'm delighted to say it pinpointed me as from Nottingham, though it surprised me when it narrowed my origins down to, of all places...

I live in Mansfield and have to do that all the time.

Well actually, these days I often nod my head as though I understood what was said (can't be arsed listening to whatever it was again). Of course, I don't employ this tactic if I'm in the town centre and spoken to by someone carrying a blanket.

It was "dobby" round my way (the Meadows). Or, more accurately, "dobbeh".

I've always called it "It", even back up in Notts. Maybe that's just a Radcliffe thing. We like to do things differently.

My „British“ dialect is being slowly diluted now with a slightly Teutonic slant.

    Ach, alles gut.
