You’ve spent far too much effort on this post for it to get just one „like“.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

So what's the deal here? You'll be starting pre-season with no new signings?

I believe in addition by subtraction. So i'm not overly concerned by it. The market here has gone crazy this summer. Far less movement that normal has taken place.

Yep. I look forward to hearing how it's Mr Marinakis' fault.

Though I think we'll get something announced on Monday

When it comes to it we’re all experts, aren’t we?

When a name is put forward there’s a chorus of “he’s shit” “ he’s too old” etc.

The fact is that the majority of us know f**k all.

We need to trust the manager and his associates who know a damn sight more than we do. That is why they are paid a deal of money.

If it doesn’t work out then we can blame then.

But, for crying out loud, don’t hammer them for their choices before they have even started.

For al the failures of players and management we've had. I think you're giving them too much credit.

Look at Monk, he was signing players who were under the control of his own agent.

A lot of that kind of bullshit goes on. We're very entitled and right to question and analyse such things.

I'd say we're more qualified to comment on players than a lot of managers to be honest.

The concern over this transfer window should not be, primarily, about the manager and his choices. The manager and his choices are the second step. I've tried to discreetly point out that first of all there should be a concern about the budget made available to the manager (and the rest of the decision makers), especially with the costly reconstruction of the CG coming up.

Is the fact that the names you've been linked with so far are underwhelming related to the budget? If so, if the money available to O'Neill is not enough to realistically push for promotion, then the question is what your goals are for this season. Get rid of a lot of deadwood and make do with few additions and what you have? Bring in aspiring youngsters, hoping that they'll excel next season?

In other words, O'Neill and his choices is not the real issue. The real issue is: you're serious about promotion, but are they?

Maybe the problem is we spunked all the promotion transfer kitty last season getting rid of the deadwood and signing a bunch of holding midfielders and an unproven Portuguese whizz kid only to find that the biggest piece of deadwood was the manager we'd invested the money in?

    Potential Prem Loans

Arsenal (Nelson & Smith-Rowe to Germany or with Arsenal)
Joe Willock (CM) (May be with Arsenal first team or may got to Germany. Supposedly turned down Champ/L1 interest last season)
Eddie Nketiah (CF/WF) (May be with Arsenal first team or may got to Germany. Charlton/Bristol City have shown interest)

Chelsea (James, Mount , Abraham with Chelsea or top division football)
Dujon Sterling (RB) (Had a good loan at Coventry in L1 2018/19)
Fikayo Tomori (CB) (Even if Frank is in charge he may go on loan. If Champ Derby front-runners)
Jake Clarke-Salter (CB) (Had a loan to Sunderland in Champ & struggled. Picked things up at Vitesse in 2018/19)
Jay Da Silva (LB) (Had a good loan to Bristol City 2018/19 - talk is they have the option to purchase but up in the air if Frank looks at him)
Ethan Ampadu (Linked with Villa/Derby if he doesn't stay with Chelsea)
Lewis Baker (CM) (Getting on. 24 years-old and so many loans. Seemed to form a good partnership with Ejaria at Reading back end of last season)
Kasey Palmer (ACM) (23 now and needs to find a home. Problem is Bristol City where he did well on loan and even clubs like Norwich/Sheff Utd looking at him)
Izzy Brown (WF/CF) (22 now and really he has no future at Chelsea. Missed whole season at Leeds with injury. At Chelsea there is Abraham/Hudson-Odoi)

    Everton
Callum Connolly (CB/CM) (A jack of all trades type. Definitely not a full-back. Has a good scoring record from his loans in Champ so thinking good aerially)
Antonee Robinson (LB) (Had 2 good loans in Champ. Wigan supposedly bid 1.9m for him but I read an article he wants pre-season with Everton)
Joe Williams (#6 CM) (Good loan at Barnsley the season before last. Last season at Bolton and it really is difficult to thrive there)
Kieran Dowell (AMF) (Supposedly clubs like Villa/Sheff Utd are looking to bring him in so unlikely now)

    Liverpool (Wilson/Kent Prem & Rangers)
Herbie Kane (#6 CM) (Good loan at Doncaster last season in L1. Linked with Millwall/Brentford but got to think Hull an option now with Grant McCann new manager)
Ovie Ejaria (CM) (Mixed bag but seems he did well end of last season at Reading. Reading thought they had him but seems like Leeds are interested)
Ben Woodburn (AMF) (Much talked about but a failed loan at Sheff Utd. Talk of going to Wigan now)

    Man City
Tosin Adarabioyo (CB) (Had a loan at WBA but not really what we need)
Matt Smith (#6 CM) (Had a good loan at FC Twente in Holland & City rate him highly. May decide a Champ loan is what we needs now)
Jack Harrison (WF) (Had an ok loan at Leeds last season. Talk is, he is set to go back there)
Lukas Nmecha (CF/WF) (Was on loan to Preston last season. Didn't score much but gew into it & physical presence. Could go back there or to Germany)

    Tottenham
Kyle Walker-Peters (RB) (Could leave Spurs. Seems to have been around the first team and never played much. 22 now)
Cameron Carter-Vickers (CB) (Good young CB and who has had good loans in Champ)
Josh Onomah (CM) (Much thought of progressive passing midfielder but many failed Champ loans. May be a good pick up if we can get him to perform to his talent)

    First team Prem players (Colback)

    Right-backs
    Carl Jenkinson (Linked with WBA)
    James Bree
Sam Byram (Linked with Forest, WBA, Leeds)

    Centre-backs
    Reece Oxford (Linked with WBA)
    Grant Hanley
    Ciaran Clark

    Left-backs

Sam McQueen (Cruciate ligament whilst on loan at Boro last season)

    Centre-mids

Harrison Reed (Linked to Forest but read he wants Premier League football)
Andy King (Injured whilst on loan at Derby 2018/19)
Harry Arter (Was on loan at Cardiff in Prem 2018/19)

    Wing-forwards

Conor Mahoney (Was on loan at Birmingham 2018/19)
    Jordon Ibe

    Centre-forwards
(Problem with these guys is wages)
Dwight Gayle (Set to replace Mitrovic at Fulham for 20m)
Jordan Hugill (Linked with a return to Preston & with Leeds after an average loan to hometown club Boro)
    Charlie Austin
Nahki Wells (Was on loan at QPR 2018/19)
    Matej Vydra
Tomer Hemed (Was on loan at QPR 2018/19)

I wouldn't say a lot on that list excite me and some of those that do are complicated. Take Byram - we have to put out a fee and then probably give him a 2 or 3 year deal. How long do we wait to agree what West Ham and Byram (30k per week) want ?

Most clubs our level are actually looking at the free market and L1/L2 at this stage and probably waiting for a loan or two.

Leeds might be linked with Buffon and Helder Costa but lets see them get it done.

Thinking about Wilder's uninspiring signings last season and they still got promoted.

I fully endorse a season of getting rid of deadwood and introducing Richardson, Appiah, Worrall, Yates, Johnson and Mighten... etc
