If we continue in this vein of form until the next international break, I’m gonna put a fiver on us signing Vydra

Spending huge money and wages on someone like Vydra would be a huge departure from the kind of business we did in the summer. Far more likely to go to one of the parachute payment clubs than wind up here IMO.

If we continue to do well, then I expect our January transfers to be of similar ilk to those we made in the summer window. If it ain't broke, don't fix it after all.

I disagree. I believe the conservative spending in the summer is because we're positioning to strengthen and spend in January if there is a clear opportunity for us to make a push for playoffs.

I'd be surprised if we didn't go for it in Jan if we were top 6.

If we're top six in January I fully expect us to use the last of the Gunter money on some stellar signings

I don't think it's either, I just don't think the right deals came up. This summer was notoriously difficult.

Rather us identify targets we want rather than panic buy ones we don't.

More chance of pulling an old munter with a can of Stella.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Agree along these lines. It is also a hard sell to Vydra "Do you fancy coming here on a 6 month loan to play second fiddle to Grabben? If he gets injured, you will get a chance".

It will mostly likely be a young french lad with a terrible goalscoring record, the masses on twitter will go mental and he will end up being a decent player scoring us some important goal.

Yeah, I doubt Vydra would want to be back up to Grabban, nor is it a particularly good idea to change our formation/ the way we play mid-season to accommodate them both in the starting XI.

Even if we do spend big in January, I just don't see Vydra as the type of player we'd be targeting at all...

That's on the assumption we are on the last of the Gunter money. It's like compound interest, we've got more of that money than we initially received. It will never run out.

If I win Euromillions tonight, I might buy a player for the club. If I offer Wayne more money, do you think he'd join us?

    What’s the Jackpot VP?

If it’s €200m, you could afford Neymar?

I only think in sterling pounds. Not sure of the amount, but it'll be enough for me, about £160 million. Not Neymar, nut case. At least Wayne is just thick.

Past few games highlighting the gap in first team stalwarts such as Carva, Sow & Grabban, and the backup options we have for them in the likes of Ameobi & Semedo.

Think we've signed a fair few players who are 3rd string backup/wildcard players, and that we really need more Championship-ready quality signed in Jan throughout the side.

Not 10 random players from all over who fit the template, but need getting up to speed. Just a handful of ready-now players who can cover for weeks at a time sufficiantly if needed.

What do you reckon Alf, a quality striker, a pacy winger and possibly a midfielder who can unlock a defence?

    Sounds bang on mate.

Appriciate funds may mean we have to compramise somewhat. On one hand that's fair enough, on the other I do ask why we've so many not-ready players like Muric, Mir etc. clogging up the wage bill in the first place to mean that's an issue, but that aside if we could aim to fulfill those requirements best as possible then we'll really be a frontrunner.

The key thing for me is having ready-now playes here. A lot of this summers signings are still learning to adapt. Jan's signings need to be ready from the off.
