Default Matchday 32: West Brom v Nottingham Forest.

Back in the chair for another go. This time we go to the leagues top scorers & all round good side West Bromwich Albion.

Take a look at this for a side.

    Gayle Rodriguez J.Murphy
    Johansen Barry Livermore
    Gibbs Hegazi Dawson Holgate.

Decent looking 433 that'll likely give us all the shit we can handle. Case of digging, hope they play an adventurous line, throw some balls up to Grabban & hope he can make something happen. Its a plan & theres nothing to suggest we cant pull it off.

    Id play:

    Pants
    Darikwa Milosevic Wague Robinson
    Cash Colback Yacob Lolley
    Osborn
    Grabban

    Score draw.

Swap Watson for Yacob and I’d go with that

Colback back is good. Murphy probably up top is not so good.

I'd be delighted with a draw.

Default Matchday 32: West Brom v Nottingham Forest.

I’d also give Cash a break but will be pleased to see Benalouane and Colback back.

I think 'odd' is a good thing. Oddness shows originality, uniqueness and a desire to be different from the masses. Oddness is, maybe, only deemed 'odd' by the majority who are considered less odd but only by their own blinkered observations and understanding. Oddness should never be criticised but be encouraged to nurture, develop individualism and to explore the mind rather than conform to expectation and 'normality'. Many of the world's greatest works of art and prose were born from those minds many considered to be 'odd'.

Can't get Colback in the team quick enough. Would like to see Carvalho start as well.

Play like we did in the home fixture and we can get something.

It will be interesting to see what neutrals who watched us in that home game make of the contrast in styles between then and now.

How bad were we v Brum picking up runners through the middle ? The reason was no Colback and Yates showed his maturity and what his game has by doing the same yesterday.

Absolutely vital that Colback is back with his experience in a game like this.

Joao would hopefully allow us to get in between the lines of their slow midfield and defence like at the beginning of the season.

WBA are on a bit of a rough patch by their standards. Won 2 of the last 6 and haven't won at home since Boxing Day.

We're Forest - we end other teams bad runs when we want!
    I expect a defeat.
    I hope for win.
I would settle for a draw.
I would love to have Rodiguez and Gayle and one or two more of their players.
But MON/RK are making a difference!
Me and the Mrs could be persuaded to pay over the #8 - #10 to watch a live stream on Now! or IFollow.
    We are crazy like that.

WBA pose a very different threat to Brentford.

Their CM's sit deeper and perhaps play between the lines less, so key we close them down high up the pitch so they can't just play it in behind our full-backs at will, as that's one of their 3 main attacks.

    - In behind a full-back
    - movement from Gayle/Rodriguez to pull CB's out of shape
    - set pieces

You have to hope we're getting stronger at defending set pieces with the sheer size we have, although WBA have some monsters, and then the likes of Gayle who just finds himself in the right place time and again.

We can't afford to let Rodriguez and Gayle drag the CB's out of shape, because Gayle's speed in behind specifically, will punish.

We also need to be wise to them getting Murphy/Phillips/Montero in a 1-on-1 position with our full-backs.

This is gonna be a tough game, and it's one where you perhaps sit in a bit and hope to break. Problem with that is you allow their whole team to box you in, and their physicality will see them probably will the second ball battles.

Grabban does have the movement to cause Hegazi/Bartley/Dawson some issues though on the break, without doubt.

Think we will have a much changed side against these. Doubt we will see Bonatini, starting changes will be Yacob for Watson and Colback for Yates. Heard on Saturday that Carvalho is not 100% fit and that’s why he’s not starting, this is giving MON an opportunity to see every player in a match situation.

Usless fact - The Hawthorns is the highest ground in England?

For some reason I though that was Oldham's.

One of my mates played half a season there in the eighties under Joe Royle, I think that’s reputed to be the coldest. It certainly felt like it when we went to watch.

Yeah, it supposed to be the coldest English ground, I read due to it being near the moors.

I was amazed when I did Oldham and the old bloke I was chatting with said the Hawthorns is higher. It just seemed so wild and woolly up there that day and the Hawthorns seemed so much more settled and lower. Just driving between St Andrews, Villa Park and The Hawthorns was so suburban and hardly hilly. Just shows.

I'm pleased we managed to muster up some spirit and goals against Brentford and I hope we can continue this against the Throstles. At least we all get the chance to see our brave lads set about the task.

I'm sure they will do it and I forecast a good win.
