    Default [BUPA] Jonathan Kodjia

Birmingham Mail suggesting AV need to cut loose a few forwards - would he be one to go for?

    That made me shiver.
Can't see it happening but better technical ability, better in the air and quicker than Miller surely.

Tbf Miller looked like a world beater against us and in a couple of other games before we bought him.

Kodija has done well wherever heís gone though. Smashed it at Bristol City.

Kodja & miller are on different footballing planets Puds.

Much like Grabban, how do we supply him on the basis of Saturday though.

Also looking at his stats this season, he's wasted on the wing. Give him opportunities inside the penalty area and he scores (as he did in 15/16 for Bristol and 16/17 for Villa)

However, we already have a striker that does that in Grabban. So where does Kodjia fit in?

Villa won't want to loan a player to a potential top 6 rival, his wages (and probably his transfer fee too) are too expensive for a permanent deal. No chance IMO.

Good question, unless we're intending to persevere with two up top, even then it looks an extravagance given whats teeing them up.

If we revert to one up, Grabban is the man, thought he looked good again Saturday.

Always thought he was a good player but didn't realise he was 29 now and only played 31 games since the start of last season and scored 5 goals, that would make me nervous.

I know I'm probably in the vast minority but if Villa were getting rid of a striker I'd sooner take Scott Hogan over Jonathan Kodjia.

Still a good age and would add something up front that I don't think we really have: pace, willingness to run all game and work the channels, think he could work well with Grabban or Murphy if two up front were to stay. Plus he can get goals at this level in the right system.

Thatís mainly due to Tammy Abraham coming in and Kodjia being shoehorned into positions he doesnít really suit - on the wing, etc.

I know itís a BUPA but this one doesnít make sense to me.

Which about sums up the likelihood of signing him also.

Well. If the owners really do want promotion, and if they really do want it now, then they are going to have to accept it isn't going to happen on the cheap so they will have to stump up the money needed to buy players and their wages.

Not do what they've done to their managers so far which is get them the odd proper signing and then surround those with freebies, not readys and cheapies expecting it to click straight away before blaming the manager when it doesn't.

Until they fund it properly it's actually their fault with the manager as the fall guy.

Put your money where your mouth is Marinakis. You are the one who can get us promoted now. Not a manager working with his hands tied.

We're between a rock & a hard place now though, do we want to plough big money on players with the likelihood the manager will be out in May?

Iím talking in terms of rawness MASE.
Believe it or not Miller was promising while at WBA. Itís as if he switched his legs around when he came here.
I donít see him as a Grabban out & out goalscorer myself.

    Pointless

Bolasie I would be looking at though. He's having his loan cut short by Villa.

If the owner is demanding promotion and promotion now then he has to give the manager now the tools to do the job. Which means putting his hands in his pockets and pulling out a load of money to fund it.

If the object is not promotion now then we have to ask why the hell did he push Karanka out.

Grabban and Kodjia up front of this midfield is like having top quality low profile alloy wheels on a Robin Reliant.

Now's the time to sign him. He's been waiting his whole career to become Old Kodija.

Bolasie returned to sender and Kodjia off to Angers in France. Villa starting to cut their cloth accordingly by the looks of things.

Bad news for them they still have Lansbury stinking the place out. Think he is a bad luck charm.
