Anyone think MON is taking this job because he's not been offered anything else? Why come now when he's tossed us aside for the last 25 years?

Don't get me wrong, he's our manager(possibly) so I'll support him until he cocks it up, but could we have done better? Time will tell, now it seems signed and sealed.

Yes, I thought of that, too. Thought I'd ask the question anyway.

Bring Robbo in and I'll be completely sold on the idea.

    Wonderful translation
Ah, I just remembered I had something more to say: a guy who pretends to be an agent and obviously is not writes a bullshit rumour in twitter, fabricating support from another twitter account (supposedly by a journalist) which he obviously created himself two days ago (and filled it with random retweets from the Greek press to enhance credibility as a supposed Greek journalist), and you guys take him seriously. OK, the deluded twitter guy obviously has a lot of spare time available, but surely you can do better than that.

For the record, the original 'Greek' tweet is obviously a google translation from English to Greek, then retranslated in English.

I'm not saying that there definitely won't be a role for Robbo, but sadly Richard, he's not been in the best of health over the last couple of years.

I'd be delighted to be proved wrong and he is able to fulfill an active role as part of the backroom staff but, if anything at all, I can't see him doing more than a few bits and pieces such as giving his assessment of the players - an opinion that I know MO'N values greatly.

Robbo is very, very disillusioned with the general attitude and mindset of the modern-day footballer, and actually retired from the game before his health problems initially occurred, with that disillusionment playing no small part in making that decision. He's not changed that opinion since.

Get him in to teach the bastards how to take a set-piece properly.

Apparently he and a number of high profile ex-players/managers are caught up in a very expensive, multi-million pound tax issue with HMRC

At 66 you;d have to think lack of jobs isn't a massive problem for him, and he'd probably be happy to retire.

I honestly think he wants to have a shot at managing us before he retires and sees this as his best opportunity to do so.

Well, it rained and was cloudy for the most part. Big front coming in, so rain likely for the rest of the week. I like it better like this anyway, the heat is overrated, especially when you're trying to sleep.

According to the Greek press, one of the managers proposed (by Mendes I suppose) for the replacement of Karanka was the 43-year old Ivo Vieira, currently at Moreirense and considered by some the next big thing in Portugueuse managers.

Perhaps you should keep the name for future reference.

Karanka's staff all left with him.
