11 slam finals to Wawrinka's 4, world #1 (season end too) v career high of #3, 45 singles titles v 16, Murray double Olympic champ. Three slams each is a technicality in the comparison between these two.

Yes, even by Stan's admission Murray's achievements are way ahead of his.

The comparison of GS titles over-inflates Stan's record but is an under-estimate of Murray's overall achievement, given the number of finals he has reached, and lost to other BF members.

Stan has reached 4 GS finals and won 3 of them, I think only 1 of them he beat a BF before the final (AM in *that* 2017 RG semi where he bust his hip).

Andy has lost more AO finals than Stan has reached GS finals.

His record at Masters Series is more consistent as is his overall career given that within about 12 months of AM and ND arriving on tour they were both top 10 players giving the then BT (RF and RN) a run for their money and have continued (when fit) to do so.

Though in reality you could also say that given his talents - his overall shotmaking, and that backhand is definitely the best in the men's game - that Stan should have won a lot more, and only indeed started to do stuff in his late 20s after getting Magnus Norman as his coach.
