Sky sports news also had a barely visible rainbow strip at the bottom of the screen on the ticker; don't think I can ever watch soccer Saturday again now. The horror.
As someone who "gets this shit thrown at them" at work and gets pissed off because the whole idea is that I'm a bastard, whether I want to be or not, I can't really see a problem with corner flags.
It doesn't change anything other than the club showing it welcomes LGBT fans. Unless you don't want LGBT fans at the ground, and if you do, you are entitled to that opinion what's the problem?

I didn't even notice and still don't care.

I absolutely fucking love girl on girl action.
“All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.”
So, you don't think it happens then?
The internet, especially social media, is the worst place for it.
A group of people turning on one person because they don't like his/her non offensive opinion is a form of bullying. Oh I forgot, it's called 'calling him out' now isn't it.

In a bid to close this one off could we agree that some thought it was a good idea to support it and some weren't so keen. It may of helped some feel welcomed and others it didn't affect.
In summary when the wind blew so did the flags. It didn't improve nor impede anyones view. The amount of points we took for the win remained the same.
The only thing sexier than your preferred choice of sexual activity and gender is some of our football.
Case closed??

I've never sported a tash of any kind.
Currently got a tash after Movember. Thinking of curling it at the ends
You realise that homophobia, like sexism and racism are not really political issues, or agendas - they are much more massive than that and need to be stamped out. Football should be at the very forefront of being inclusive but has dragged it's feet and is only just starting to catch up.
Things like this are ideal, because football is one of the few things left in society where twats think it's perfectly acceptable to yell and scream homophobic and racist abuse under the guise of it being "banter". It's not acceptable in any walk of life and it's actually embarrassing that football is so far behind when it should be one of the most inclusive things on the planet.

Really don't understand why any sane reasonable person would have an issue with this. It's just changing the colour of the flags and captain's armband for one game to promote acceptance for a community of people who may feel excluded or unwelcome at football matches for fear of being subject to abuse. It's not like our players came out the tunnel holding hands wearing a rainbow coloured strip for the game.
It's quite sad that promoting not being a twat towards LGBT people is somehow considered political or controversial by some.
Ironically some people telling the OP he should have just ignored the gesture have numerous posts in this thread that in their logic they should have ignored
For what it’s worth I didn’t even notice the corner flags at all, and I’m glad some gay fans feel more comfortable because of it, but some of the shouting down and straw man arguments towards the OP and others are unnecessary

That's my issue with these things, not the subject matter.
It's a good thing if it makes more people feel welcome (although I thought they were anyway) and like Hulk said, there is some value in it.
However, some people have the opinion that football is better off not getting too involved in these issues and are entitled to that opinion.
I don't see what is so offensive in that. It's like a you're either with us or against us mentality that seems to surface quite often whenever anyone has an unpopular opinion.
