Default January 2019 transfer window / Transfer Deadline Day

I know we've still got two months to go before the window opens but it's clear to most that we are still short in a couple of areas.
Despite adding to the ranks we still require cover in a few positions - in my mind we need another striker, one who can play the lone role. And another creative midfielder is a requirement.
What do you think we should do in January - spend big again or just add a couple of additions to compliment the quality we already have?

Nice to see you still taking interest in the club despite your son going back to Malmo.

We will run out of squad numbers.

A decent striker, not some no-Mark-league cast off, another Left Back, a Ball-playing Centre Half, and an attacking CM to give Carvalho and Guedioura a rest.

We won’t get all that though.

Its ridiculous to think that we've signed 24 players in 10 months and we are still short in some areas, we need pace from somewhere, a creative midfielder, and a striker as a bare minimum.

We should also get rid of allot of players a 30 man squad of mainly seasoned pros is far too many, 22 players and some youth is what we should of had as you cant keep 5-6 players happy fighting for 2 spots.

Nothing wrong with the squad that another 12 players in January wouldn't cure.

Fair point on Yacob & Tacht, but by all accounts Yacob is an enforcer & the Greek lad likewise. I think if they were viable alternatives to Gueds we'd have seen them already.

Tachtsidis plays exactly like Guedioura, the only difference being that he is slower and possibly with a better pass forward.

Jesus, my Mrs has so many shoes, some are totally identical to each other and they are just piled in the hallway. She always utters those words ‘I just got these as they were only £20’. I’m thinking £20 x 50. No wonder we have no money. They always fuck her feet up as well. My trainers get replaced when the soul starts to leak, I had my last pair 8 years. Her waters broke all over the fuckers and I still wore them for a further 5 years!!

Quality striker (regardless of what happens with Ansarifard) and a proper left back to compete with Robinson.

Besides that, I'd start looking to reduce the squad a bit. Henderson, Ariyibi and Bridcutt are clearly not in the managers plans so we need to get rid of those. Loan out Yates and Appiah if they aren't going to be used after our FA Cup 3rd round exit, I'd also consider getting rid of Watson if he continues to be poor.

If I were a member of the Board, I would only give money for a quality striker and a substitute left back.

It'll depend on who's available as much as who we need, you suspect.

Personally, I'd be happy with a back up for Robinson, Carvalho and Grabban.

It wouldn't surprise me if we shift Yacob or Tachsidis for a fee either as part of some agent agreement when we signed them, like we did with Kapino. In which case a central midfielder would be on the list too.

From the game today it identifies 2 positions: Left back & box-to-box midfielder.

Left back, because Robinson went down today and if we lose him we are in trouble because we seem to lose a huge amount of balance to the side when he is out the side.

Box-to-box midfielder to replace Guedioura as his form drifts and as far as I can see, we have no real alternative to him that can do the role that he does.

Also, I would get Tomlin back on loan just to push others and those around him. Karanka & him know each other, and he was critisized last season for only doing it against the lesser teams, and that's something we could well do with at home especially. Him drifting in and out the team for the odd game would be ideal for me.
