See this doesn't fill me with confidence, in January we need players who come in to hit the ground running and 1 year out + 6 months of not playing doesnt fill me with confidence that he will.

So a 32 year old coming off an ACL who hasn't played in a season (potentially a 18 months in January) doesn't ring alarm bells? Add to that for an attacking player he neither scores or creates on a consistent basis. To be deemed 'good enough' is the only pre-requisite that you have played Premiership football?

He wont of played, hes not in palaces 26 man squad, best he can hope is u23s or a loan abroad if thats possible.

Ive no idea if hes good enough but his lack of game time is what concerns me, look at Gued last season.

If a premiership/England manager is prepared to overlook the stats & pick him 36 games straight, then can't we? He was clearly contributing something.

Puncheon was a top player for this level prior to the injury, whatever route we go he'll likely be cheap. We need experienced cover at ACM for Carvalho & Benny, so why not. Experience in such a key position wouldnt be the worst idea, assuming we build in the usual contingency for dodgy knees.

I had to laugh this morning listening to someone (might have been Lawro) on 5Live talking of players over the hill. You notice their legs going on the training ground so you put together video clips of the player, talk them up and flog them off before the other team get the chance to see them slowing down..

Think we've been done by that technique a few times.

Is this rumour for real or BUPA?
He was once a decent player.
    Not any more.

It's a Nixon rumour so I'm not sure even he knows whether its BUPA or real.

It'll be his agent trying to get interest in him.

All seems a bit farcical. In my day everyone would have gone their separate ways and that would have been the end of it. Pathetic waste of court time.

„Puncheon, who the court heard was wearing a three-quarter length herringbone jacket“

Should’ve got sent down for that alone.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“
