One of his biggest frustrations is that people continue to question whether someone with his upbringing possesses the hunger and desire to succeed in the game.
Anyone who saw him playing for Peterborough last season would be perfectly justified to ask those questions - as he showed little hunger or desire.

Any football team would consider itself fortunate to have a supporter like Nigel Doughty who put his money into the club with love and hope. That it didn’t work for him was unfortunate but it could have gone the other way and he would now be a legend.

Much has been said and written about why he didn’t succeed and I am not going to add to it here. Suffice to say that he appears to have brought his son up with sound values and he is a credit to his father.

The thing that's worth remembering about Nigel Doughty is that he never really wanted to be owner. He was invited during that late 90s saga by Barnes to invest in an effort to oust Scholar, Wray et al from the club.

He then ended up being chairman almost by default after said wankers pulled out Forest.

Should pop him in a team with Will Hughes and Patrick Bamford, Neil Harris and Frank Lampard can be joint managers, shame there aren't many more public school educated footballers.

Isn't every old boy there through their dad's money.

I walk around like everything is fine but deep down, in my shoe, my sock is sliding off.

Yeah but when your Dads was a footballer it’s different. I’d class em as football people.
