Apparently his nickname is 'skinny girl'

    Lifted from a WBA forum
I have been an advocate for Claudio for a considerable time and still believe he would have done a job for us in the Championship. Sadly that's not to be and I fully respect other's views about the rights or wrongs with that.
Personally I hope that come a cold, wet, windy night at Millwall or similar we're not thinking " I wish Claudio was here, he would have gripped this and kept us on track"
My other thoughts around him are that lots of people, pundits etc are raving about certain players who just seem to pass the ball about 10 yards, both backwards and sideways. Claudio has been under criticism for this (or it is highlighted as a 'deficiency') whereas in the World Cup there was loads of this sort of football and they are supposed to be at the top of the game. Sad that we couldn't find a way to fit him in. I also realise our limitations with playing staff make this difficult.

Good luck and best wishes Claudio. - I would hate to see you playing against us.

I fell in love with football as I was later to fall in love with women,. Suddenly, uncritically giving no thought to the pain it could bring. - Nick Hornby

It's actually five though. Yates should have gone out on loan already (maybe the delay was waiting for an incoming), and it's been obvious for a while that Bridcutt is surplus to requirements.

I'm sure I saw you say the other day that ideally we needed five midfielders?

Joking aside, I suspect he's coming in for his goals.

Apparently it was his decision to leave WBA by not triggering an extension clause in his contract.

This could be a good signing.

Bizarre signing. Only logical reasoning I can see behind this signing is that AK thinks Watson is finished and doesn't rate Bridcutt

taking 2 midfielders means clearly that 2 of the existing ones are considered as dead meat

maybe we are terminating the Colback loan? or Pep is out for a while longer, or Yacob can play at let back?
only real answer must be that he was too good to pass up on and to hell with the ones we already have.

    I think small squad.

    And another over 30.

    Really don’t get it.

Must be changing formation to 4-6-0

    Guedioura - First choice
    Colback - Backup
    Bridcutt - Bomb squad
    Tachtsidis - Backup
    Yacob - First choice
Yates - Planned loan in January
Watson - Added to bomb squad

    I guess?

Can only assume we're going to start playing a 2-7-1 formation.

    This gets ridiculous.

Watson and Colback are too similar to play together, but with Gued out there wasn't much choice before this week. Now if this happens he can keep them apart and has options again.

I quite like Yacob. If we were in a situation like we were in January, i'd be delighted with him coming in.

Not entirely sure if there's any point to it with Watson, Gued, Colback, Yates (back and needing some minutes) + Tachtsidis signed since. Must be blowing through so much money at the minute.

Agreed. When fit, I expect Yacob and Guedioura being the 2.

As in show a profit? I am purely speculating here but I'd hazard a guess our squad if Yacob signs our wage bill for players alone is £25m+ a year. How can that possibly be sustainable let alone leave us ending up in profit?

Welcome Yakult. Good bacteria is what we've been crying out for IMO.

Can they hurry up and close all the windows now. If we don't have too little in reserve then we have too many players. When we're not not spending enough, we're spending too much. We either can't compete in wages, or we're paying too much in wages. The players are too happy just picking those up, or we won't be able to keep them all happy. They just need to get backingbto waving a scarf on the side of the pitch while everybody is still out back downing their beer, then getting on with the football.

This is the passionate guy we need to do the dirty stuff. Get stuck in and carry out the niggly fouls like Paul McKenna.

I think he'd be a terrific signing. Play either him or Bridcutt alongside the passing of Tachtsidis or the lung bursting energy of Gued.

Job done. I think Karanka has lost his patience with our current midfield, one of whom contains our club captain. He doesn't mess about does he?
