It really is shit or bust this season. There is surely no way that a club of our size, lacking parachute payments and huge gates can afford to keep chucking good money at cast offs and hasbeens. I'm staggered by this I really am and I sincerely hope it doesn't happen. The amount of money the club has spunked on mercenaries looking for a payday with their careers on a downward slope over the past 5/6 years is insane. Will we never learn?

This signing is insanity if it happens. If we are not promoted we are on a one-way train to embargos-ville. To be honest with AK as manager an embargo might not be a bad thing. It's as if we're on football manager and Karanka has sorted the free agents by international caps and just signed all the ones at the top.

Our midfield options for those 2 positions if Yacob signs will be...

    Guedioura
    Watson
    Colback
    Bridcutt
    Tachtsidis
    Yacob
    Yates

Throw in Cash and Osborn who can both play there too.

That is mental squad depth and there is absolutely no way AK will be able to keep everyone happy. God only knows what Bridcutt must be feeling...he puts in a good performance in the cup then is shunned for the ginger crabs on Saturday who put in performances a child would be embarrassed of. Then before our next game we've signed 2 players that play his position. And as for Yates, he needs to leave for the good of his career. He clearly has talent and was a stand out performer in pre-season at times but it is obvious that under the current regime he will never get a chance. He needs to team bus to crash on the M4 to even be considered for the Swansea game. It's a joke.

Looking forward to the Swansea game where we try out a revolutionary new tactic involving 4 slow holding midfielders all trying to occupy the same space to play 5 yard passes

How heavy do you want the anchor in your midfield, the weight of four men?

In a shit or bust season, you would have four outstanding, Premier quality and on Premier wages, midfielders (plus a couple of youngsters like Yates for backup), not seven OKish midfielders.

I reckon we've signed him because Karanka knows he's got too many midfielders already, so he's gonna get to his first training session, two foot Ben Watson to another galaxy then bite Colback's face off and there we have it, back down to a reasonable number of holding midfielders.

You have to ask what is the thinking with this then.

Wages add up though, none of them will be on rubbish money will they? This is pure speculation but I reckon Watson, Colback, Guedioura and Bridcutt would all be on 15k+ a week, based on their ages and the clubs we have signed them from

I think it's pretty evident why you signed him

There is a need for someone to kick, punch, bite the rest of your midfielders. To harden their steel

We won’t have to worry about it though as we’ll have already bought all our players for the next three seasons!!!

They will all be over 50 by then though!!

There is no way that you will have an embargo. No way. I bet you that you will show earnings this year.
