People have been correctly saying, when we've lined up with Colback and Watson, that there is no link between attack and defence, it's 6 defenders and 4 attackers. We just need someone to shift the ball with a bit more purpose once we get it back, Pep was doing a fine job of it before his injury and the injury clearly showed the need for back-up. The physical presence of him is also a big bonus.
The playing style of Tachtsidis is very similar to the one of Guedioura. But he certainly needs someone like Colback behind him, because he's slower than Guedioura.

Then hes already not good enough.

Bouch and Peparami or whatever his name was were to slow for this league, you dont get a second here to think before someone is on you.

Might be best to wait and see if he signs and how he gets on before judging him

There are slow holding midfielders who have done alright in this league, especially if they can pass the ball well.

But he isn’t a backup for guedioura which is what we want.

I still don't see how we're going to get away with potentially sign Ansarifard and this chap 3 days or so after the window closed.

If we do, our team will be a hell of a lot taller when they play. Panagiotis is 6'4 and Ansarifard 6'2.

You'd hope we'd become stronger in both boxes at least if they do happen.

Pep hasn't been playing as a box to box this season he's been getting the ball deep and passing it forward quickly.

As I said in my post earlier we need someone to transition the ball from defence to attack with more purpose and actually get counter attacks going rather than lumping the ball at Murphy, if he can get his foot on the ball and get it to Carvalho or the wingers with a bit more haste and accuracy then he can do the job.

Speed isn't what we need in that area, it's the ability to recycle the ball and pick a pass

If this lad can do that then fine by me

In that case- it’s not pace, but technique and speed of thought that are important. Guedioura also struggled when closed down quickly

Greek media insist that Ansarifard's is a done deal, and that Tachtsidis will most probably also go to Nottingham.

Well Oly just signed Matias Nahuel a few minutes ago, so Marinakis & co clearly have a way around transfer window deadlines

„Hello? That is the EFL, yes? Vrentzos here, just a couple more transfers to pop through, if you’d be so kind? By the way, nice offices you have there. Would be a shame if something happened to them, like they caught fire...or something...“

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Vrentzos is trying to overcome himself. After arranging so many transfers in the last day during past January window, now he wants to arrange transfers after the end of the summer window. Beat that if you can

I think we're allowed free transfers outside the transfer window if the player was out of contract when the transfer window closed.

    Dear Football League,

WE'LL be the ones to decide when the transfer window closes, thank you very much.

    Yours sincerely,

    Mr E Marinakis

Big Evanglos is basically the Godfather.

He has also been energetic, he is strong and knows the division and the English game. Imagine this guy who is as slow as Bouch and Watson sitting deep. When will he be up to speed?

Bouchalakis was a good player so if this guy is better it could be a good signing. We are desperate for a decent central midfielder if Yates isnt going to get a chance. Watson and Colback have been poor so far this season and Bridcutt doesnt convince me. Be interested to see him alongside Guedioura if we go with 3 at the back.

Bouch was ok, he wasn't bad nor good, scored those 2 beautiful goals last season v Brentford though.

No idea what to expect another total unknown for me so will have to judge if/when he signs/plays.
