Happy to see him come in on loan.

One thought on this - Karim would need a Work Permit, so he needs to have played in 75% of Iran’s games.

Also, Iran are currently ranked No. 32 in the world by FIFA, so that’s OK (low country ranking is what scuppered Fawaz‘ attempts to sign Kuwaiti players).

Played in every game for them at the World Cup, and has 62 caps.

Will he slot straight into Breretons seat in the stands?

I wouldn't bet that this is happening, for two reasons. The first is that a seasoned Olympiacos reporter denied that Ansarifard stayed in Britain; he said that he returned along with the rest of the team to Athens.

The second is that this transfer does not make much sense to me from an administrative point of view. The situation with Ansarifard is the following. He is entering his last year of contract, and thus his agent pressed very intensely either for a new contract (he is earning very little for a striker, something in the area of 500K per year) or a transfer. We apparently did not want to increase his wages to the amount his agent insisted, hence agreed on a sale. But our asking price was too steep, in the area of 10m. The bottom line is that he is not a player we are trying to get rid of. We would have been very happy keeping him, if we did not find an exorbitant price in the market. In other words sending him to Forest essentially means that EM and at least one of his teams loses money and a good player.

Now, on the player: his main characteristics are pace, stamina, mobility and relentless pressing of the opponent's defence. He is not a goal-scoring machine, he is not an instictive poacher, he is not the world's best finisher, he is not the sort of striker who will always be at the right spot in the opponent's area (precisely because he is so mobile). But he will fight throughout the match, he will try to pass to teammates, he will run the channels, he will dribble opponents, he will mark a player in defence, he will drop back in midfield to help the passing game etc. Oh, and he never misses a penalty; most of them are high in the corner, literaly uncatchable.

From what I've seen of his penalties, I can see that. He likes going for the top corner.

He will be without doubt one of the best two Iranians to ever play for Forest

Yep we need to know if he's got blace?

Is blace still a thing on this forum Btw? It's been a couple of years since I've been on and got locked out of my old account.

Would he already have a work permit as he's already in the EU?

We aren’t allowed to use it now. LJR, sedge and a few of the other snowflakes said it was racist.

He would still need one here but he shouldn't have any problems getting one.

Would still need a work permit for the uk. Even a travel permit around EU (schengen) isn’t valid in the UK.

I think it's a compliment. For one to know they have a positive ability attributed towards you.

... and the Olympiacos reporter proved more trustworthy than the Guardian. LJR will be thrilled.

Gerasimos Manolidis does, actually, but he is well-connected with agents and has had several scoops this summer.

Since the transfer window is closed, Ansarifard will probably come to you as a free agent, with us maintaining a hefty sell-on clause. It is a good move for you but a very wrong move for us.

I understand taking money and resources from the right pocket to put it in the left one, but fans of the right pocket will start feeling itchy if this continues.
